The entire concept of getting rich without wagecucking is out of their mindset.

Americans in particular have this weird lord-serf thing going on with their employers and employees. Whoever thought it would be a good idea to link healthcare to your job is a damn idiot.

1st generation US citizen here; both my parents are immigrants.

I have zero debt, so does my immigrant "boomer" parents, because they understood the value of money. They own everything, including their small 1200 sqft ranch which will be perfect for when they retire.

Sucks to have American boomer parents. Maybe...just maybe Americans can see the positive side to hard working immigrants. Most boomers are most likely Trump supporters.

This 1.2 million house you talk about will probably lose at the very least 30-40% of its value in the coming recession. Probably even more considering what you said that they bought at an inflated-as-fuck price compared to other states.

Anyone buying real estate in this moment is goddamn retarded and will have his ass handed out to him in a couple years. Boomers will suffer crypto levels of rekt in what they consider "safe" assets as they lose half of their value overnight and their monthly mortgage payment remembers them so for the rest of their lives.

If you ever thought your bags or someone else's were heavy, I cannot wait for you to see the real estate bags boomers will have carry to their tomb. And it's going to be beautiful. Rot in hell, boomers.

real estate won't be affected too bad in the coming recession.

As currently, there is a severe supply issue with homes, NOT an over build like there was in the early 00's that caused the Great Recession.

At most houses will probably take a 10% hit MAX and will stabilize quickly as supply and demand equilibrium takes place since a lot of buyers will be out of the market due to jobs.

I could foresee, however, $1 MIL+ housing taking a 20%+ on prices however, due to SALT Tax laws-- assuming they won't be repealed if a Democrat becomes president.

After reviewing some public records, a majority of the land was just given to "Churches and Charities" which later on was sold to corporations. They sold only about 10 acres and that's how they got the 100k. What Churches and Charities bought it? It doesn't stated, it states the sale of the land was around 300M to multiple bidding parties. The insane part is about the stocks. My Great Grandfather's brother's Son, I guess Grand Uncle, told me that they would just give people shares because they didn't understand what it was. They would literally give them away. They They thought it was company debt or something. So they parted with the Shares the second they got them. I think the lawyer got a majority of them. I'm not sure. So in total, they had about 10M between all of them. They wasted a major of it on vacations, cars, business start ups, and other retarded shit. By the time my dad was born. They were all living in run down neighbors. You would have never known. Great Grands must be losing his shit.

No one saves anymore. Savings rate is near an all time low because of the BS "consuming helps the economy" meme.

No one is willing to attempt to save even a few months of salary. Any time they get a pay increase, they spend it on something else.

Then they bitch about being a "wage slave" or bitch about their job but unable to do anything about it because leaving it would leave them instantly poor. The closest thing they do is throw it in a 401k and not many do that and the ones that do put barely anything in, still expecting SSI to actually be worth something, or still exist, 20-30 years later.

They become completely unable to take advantage of investment opportunities and then proceed to blame the rich for being rich despite them being the only ones who actually saved their fucking money and used it to invest.

I have stopped having sympathy for others financial situations. In this extremely prosperous country with almost the highest disposable income in the world, they have no one to blame but themselves for not saving that income.

>except for the fact that it would dynamite the economy.

The paradox of thrift is a fallacy. It would lead to lower revenues for various companies yes but higher economic growth due to higher investment in capital. Granted you could argue that is "spending" but then the paradox only becomes relevant if people save and then sit on the money. Which again causes a reduction in the supply of money, which increases its value, promoting actually spending/investing it.

The paradox of thrift is a meaningless thought experiment that exists only in a vacuum. Not spending resources on things we never actually needed is a good thing always for humanity and thus the economy.

Very true all of it.. One of the reasons I like bitcoin and its store of value meme, is because it hooks millennials like me into saving. Saving is like a counter-cultural act now. Having graduated HS in 2007 and being into the Ron Paul / Austrian econ redpill at that time, I've always been paranoid and disdainful of legacy finance... Hated how everyone is forced to put money in the stock market to try and protect themselves from inflation. I've never put money into a 401k, instead I've saved on my own and put it in bitcoin starting in 2015.

Why? Maybe it's because I'm an aspie but I don't understand why people consider parent loyalty as some kind of unthinking automatic thing that is owed regardless of circumstance, and I think that attitude stems from people who actually had decent childhoods. I disassociated from my father long before I did so with my mother, because he was a good for nothing verbally and physically abusive asshole that ended up spending the money he was saving for my college fund for no real reason.

I'm pro family unit in principle but only if family members act like family members. I plan to actually earn my children's loyalty. To me it seems like another aspect of boomer mindset to expect one's adult children to be loyal no matter what, even though you did nothing for them but expect the public school system to raise them while only meeting their basic food and shelter needs.

Familial bonds are overrated and cause toxic relationships. You should have a relationship with your family because they are good people to be with, not because you feel "indebted" to them or "connected" by genetics.

If you have a child, that child owes you absolutely nothing. To expect anything else is selfish and entitled. You already forcibly brought another conscious being in this world that had absolutely no say in the matter. The least you can do is not shackle them down with some arbitrary "debt" that they "owe you" because you brought them into this world.

Life is not a "gift"; there was simply nothing. It's not like beings were suffering in a dark void before given "life"; they just simply weren't existant. If anything life is the ultimate curse because the thought of the lack of it is now absolutely terrifying, to the point we came up with bullshit like the afterlife because we are so unable to handle that fact.

I wish my parents were that smart.

I was able to help my mom invest in a business after getting her out of a shitty vacation rental she barely made money on (she lost money until I took on management) in 2017. This was pretty fucking smart of her.

She quickly turned that smart move into a retard move by using all her remaining savings to overpay for a shitty house on a small plot of land ($500k) in 2017 to tear down and build a slightly larger house that she is doing all by herself (because gurl power).

Completion time (in her rat brain) was set for October 2018. It is now August 2019, and construction has just started. Her expected costs have doubled, she's been paying taxes and interest on her mortgage, the company she started is low on cash, she's paying $5k in month on rent because she didn't expect to be waiting this long for the house to finish. Every contractor, friend, family member and financial advisor is calling her a fucking retard, but she refuses to listen because she's the smartest middle age real estate lady in the world, who made a couple million (that she no longer has) during a real estate bubble that was literally free money to anyone with a pulse.

If she actually finishes the house, it will cost about 30% more than a similar house readily available on the market. My guess will be her all in cost will be $1.2 million on a house worth about $900k. 2400 square feet of boomer retardation. She may also have to close the company I helped her start because despite it doing a good amount of sales, it's not growing fast enough to turn a profit because of lack of cash to invest in products.

My dad remarried a few years back, and took his 200k inheritance and spent it paying off her bills, traveling all over with her, and buying copious amounts of weed. He blew through it all in a year and is no $70k in debt. His wife left him after he paid off all her bills because he wasn't supporting her as she ran an unprofitable jewelry business.

There's a difference between a "familial bond" which forces people together who otherwise wouldn't and "friendship bonds" where both parties voluntarily choose to interact. Those parties can just as well be family members.

That forcing of the familial bond will always tend to cause toxicity in the relationship as one side takes advantage of the other and the other has no way out from it.

If your extended family is good people that you can rely on, then they are simply very good friends. Nothing more and certainly nothing less. It's the point that you feel "indebted to them" by some arbitrary genetics where bad relationships happen and people get caught up in it.

I've seen the "family" meme ruin too many lives of friends, or at least waste many years of it, before they inevitably cut them out anyways because there is, and will be, absolutely no positives for them.

Real friendships are powerful, meaningful, and beneficial to all parties. If your family fits that bill then more power to you, however not all do. Its important that people realize there is nothing special about a family that can't be given by friends. You should be with your family purely by choice; not some arbitrary connection you had no say in.

I know what you mean about the biological love of a mother, but on the adult child's end it's more complex than that. Young children love their parents pretty much by default because it's an evolutionary hardwired survival strategy and necessity that they do, and children have no standards as to what even a decent never mind good parent is supposed to meet.

When that child grows up however in the modern age they can apply rational moral standards. For example often the automatic biological love of a mother can turn out like this: >>15085960

Emotional blackmail of "I'm your mother!" and just using that as a manipulative guilt wedge to take advantage of their children. There are many more examples that get much much worse than this, to the point where a child turning into an adult is able to fairly assess that their parent is nothing but a drain on their emotional psychological and financial well being yet is content to milk an unearned love from their children if they are able to get away with it.

>>15085890
I don't think he meant that as a universal statement but rather meant that sometimes in some cases familial relationships can be just that.

The confusion and difference in opinion stems from you and others in this thread actually being able to say:
> but my grandparents, my aunts, uncles, cousins, are all great people who have helped me out countless times.

And some people not being able to honestly say that for themselves at all, and have only a plethora of psychological issues and the food+shelter thing to thank for ANY of their family members.

For people who had some family members earn their loyalty, they are often disturbed when those who didn't have that talk of disassociating from their parents. I can empathize with those who find it unthinkable to disassociate from family, but I can spot when these same people are unable to empathize with those who had to endure a much worse situation and had to escape for their own well being.

Look I don’t disagree that family can be toxic af. Sometimes even to the degree where yes, you have to disassociate from them entirely until they either get their shit together or die.

But I disagree with the way you’re looking at it/presenting your opinion lol. You seem so bleak about it; as if “””familial bonds””” are these fragile things that are bound to inevitably break as soon as your mom & you have a shouting match one day or something.

Sure now, if it’s forced, that’s different. That probably implies an already unhealthy relationship/fked-up mental state of said family member to begin with.

But under normal circumstances......dude, family is family. I vehemently disagree that it’s just like a little artifact left over in our brains from an age of tribal living, as you seem to suggest. Hell no, it’s your living and breathing DNA, and not only that but all the emergent experiences and emotions you’ve shared with those family members over your lifetime - it’s hard to put into words scientifically, but you have to be wearing your fedora way too tight if you deny that there is (likely/possibly) a very rich physical/mental/emotional/spiritual connection going on with familial bonds.

Things you can have just as much with someone who isn't genetically related as someone who is. Perhaps even purer as they are untainted by brain developmental bias.

>spiritual
Something literally unprovable.

Familial bonds are nothing special. Be with your family because you want to be with your family; because it's beneficial to you in whatever ways matter to you. Don't be simply because of some bullshit "bond" that doesn't exist or that you could get out of another person. Time invested is not a valid excuse, that's pure sunk cost fallacy.

I understand where he's coming from though.

Some people have such awful families, that they have to mentally reduce familial relationships to these mechanical cost-benefit transactions in order to save themselves. It's not healthy, but some people need to make that shift in order to survive. More importantly, it's hard for someone in that position to see what a blessing an extended family can be.

>mechanical cost-benefit transactions

Kek, if that's how you want to view that then more power to you I guess but I can tell you that's not at all how I think. Such a thing would have to extend way into the territory of "emotional benefits" to get the full picture which is obscenely unquantifiable for anyone.

I don't sit here and track debits and credits, mentally or not, for the things I do for my friends or they do for me. Neither do they. Monetarily I would be willing to give a lot of what I have to them. I would say that's pretty healthy.

I simply owe nothing to my family and they owe nothing to me except that freedom of disassociation. I have no interest in being with them; I have nothing in common with them except some basic viewpoints and things I had no control over. They are glorified acquaintances that I know more than I care to about.

There are too many that get tied up in those "things they had no control over" and end up ultimately being taken advantage of, whether either party knows it or not. Calling that "mechanical cost-benefit" analysis just serves to belittle a person's negative feelings about the relationship and effectively subjugates them to it.

Idk who hurt you, but like I said - I’m just pointing out you have a very bleak view of this subject. If you had something like the above poster said happen in your family, then I guess I get that. If not though - damn, my man

Family means something. If you don’t have even an ounce of spirituality in you or in other words just the ability to even accept the possibility that there might be something very deep and built-in to the whole familial bonds thing that you have simply thus far been unable to see for yourself......well then there’s no use arguing. But I’m telling you bruh, the redpill is that in the end, (and funnily enough) family winds up being a super downright valuable thing to be close with

You are trying really hard to justify the forcing of people together by variables completely outside their control. That is what people generally view "familial bonds" as and it's abjectly ridiculous.

If we assumed you maintained the same personality but that instead you were born under a different family, then that suddenly makes your original family completely irrelevant to you. That makes it a meaningless relationship completely based on random variables you have no control over. Randomness does not give meaning.

Meanwhile if I were to meet my friends again I would very likely quickly become friends with them again because it's based on my voluntary choice to be with them which roots in my personality. That is a meaningful connection based on who I am, not what I am.

Being a millionaire means consuming less resources than what you provide, and potentially using those excess resources to build things that provide even more resources more efficiently.

Money is an arbitrary representation of resources. If you are a millionaire it means you have provided at least that much in "profit" to the human race in some way shape or form.

Not to mention someone being wealthy does not make you less wealthy. The economy is not a zero sum game. If two people have plots of forests and one person cuts down part of theirs to build a house, wealth for that person went up, because most people view wood in the shape of shelter as more valuable, yet you on your plot still have just as much wealth as before. Total wealth went up at no expense to you.

I also got redpilled on war and how real shit gets from a young age. My grandma also explained to me how most concentration camps were simply labor camps to keep the German war machine going. They ate well in the 2 camps she was in, and got treated very well. There were people from holland to Russia who were working for the German war machine. To this day she says Germany made holland better, they went from massive unemployment and a shitty gov to a much better situation. Good luck reading about that in the history books. My grandpa got captured pow by the Britbongs and got dropped off on the isle of jersey. They survived on eating muscles and other shit for weeks before getting to a real pow camp. He said the brits from the ww2 era were based.

Also fuck family. Family isn’t shit. You need to treat family like friends. If they are loosers and share nothing In common with you don’t spend time with them. Treat them as you would potential friends. Keep the riff raff away even if they are blood.

This is what I did to my Boomer parents:
They gave me nothing and pissed their enormous wealth away on nigger art, nigger charities, and Christian church shit. I was left with literally nothing.

I had them declared mentally unfit and then got control over the tiny amount of wealth and possessions they had left. I liquidated all their shit, got $25k for it, and used it to buy a new Subaru BRZ.

Then I stuck them in the worst state-run nursing home I could find in the nigger part of town. They begged me to move them literally three days after they got there. My response was as follows:

>Stop being racist! This is their culture. You spent your whole life supporting these people and bringing them into the country. You are staying there and you will learn to live among them!

I paid their coon caretaker $500 cash to ignore any of their requests that were """unreasonable""" and told that shitskin they were both racist and to do what you have to in order to keep them in line. They are both suffering a lot of abuse including not being properly cleaned.

It's the future they both chose. For you pussies who will cry about this, you can take your egalitarian faggot shit and shove it up your ass. Boomers deserve to be punished. The only way White people will ever learn anything is through their suffering. We need to ensure that the entire Boomer generation's final years are sadistic torture as a warning to future generations who might piss away their children's opportunities.

...Final note: my mom spent her entire life working with a Lutheran church to import Somalian nogs into America and she was very successful at it. I hope one of her caretakers gives her a fucking good smack or three

I have a boomer mother-in-law who spent 12k on couches that she covers with a variety of blankets/sheets because she doesn't want her cats to destroy them. She also racked up to 60 grand total in credit card debt, and her husband pays $700 in interest every month. They have to sell one of their 5 rental properties to pay off the debt she racked up, and the property they're trying to sell got fucked up by their niece who lived there RENT FREE for 1 year. The niece was late on rent every month, then decided to just not pay rent. She promised them she would pay them back with her tax returns, but then they asked her to leave so they could sell the house to pay off their credit card debt. She moved out, but she never gave them her tax return money, but they also never asked for it lmao.

Now they're trying to sell their house that the niece lived in, and it turns out there's mold in the subflooring due to a leak from the washing machine that had been happening for a while, and they have to pay 10k in repairs in order to get the house up to code to sell it to a potential buyer.

JUSTD. I told them 2 years ago to kick that bitch out if she didn't pay rent, they never listened. Now they have to pay for their mistakes.
