TLDR: I survived on credit when my monthly income couldn't cover, making minimum payments instead of paying credit off. Same song, different person. Nothing new.

The hilarious part is, I had a 40K unsecured credit line, but my income was 13K a year. I never once had any assets to value my credit that much. It was unsecured debt too.

I sold all my AMD stocks at $34 and put every last cent into crypto. Give me one good reason why this was the wrong move considering at best it will go up to $50/share in 1 year while crypto will go much much higher than that? I like Intel getting btfo as much as you all but what is the logic behind having your money on a stock that will at best x2 what it is now and at worse will probably hover between $33-40? Is it just a matter of wanting to play it safe? Bitcoin has gone from $3k to 11k in the time that AMD has gone from $13 to $30. Genuinely curious because if you are smart enough to see how AMD has a competitive advantage over Intel for the next couple of years you should also see that there's more $ to be made from putting your money in crypto than from AMD going to $50. Or am I being retarded? tell me why

Older = More Seed money required, less time to let Drip work for you. If your limited by funds divvys may not be for you.

>Fuck penny stocks

Speaking as a gambler who traded penny stocks almost exclusively for about two years straight, I agree. Fuck penny shit indeed. It's not about the high risk. The problem is these companies are difficult to get tabs on in terms of executive competence and they are also the most vulnerable to manipulation, short attacks, insider info leaks that go unpunished etc.

To the anon who asked, I recommend either learning to trade options or play around with commodities like oil and natty gas with leverage. It's the same risk but much bigger pool to play in, lots more liquidity, the moves follow relatively predictable patterns in relation to global economic factors at the time.

hey I hope you like it
you know 50 years from now you can gather all your grandkids around you and tell them what you remember about the great worldwide financial crash of late 2019.
And you can show your grandchildren on their holovisors this old photoshopped webcomic from 2019 and tell them what all the panels mean. And the kids will laugh about the resolution and the date (2010), probably not realizing what they are seeing is one of the early webcomics from the first (and possibly only) golden age of webcomics before youtube really took over everything.

You know, when days like the ones we've had the past week are driving everyone nuts, it's OK to take a deep breath and appreciate being alive. The economy is still mostly functional, no major war has broken out yet, and we are getting to experience some really interesting history in person.
You can't really truly experience times like these unless you're actually holding stocks and crypto (or choosing not to)/

Gun companies like to spread fud every so often about guns being good investments due to the gubmint taking them away soon in order to increase gun sales, but I don't think there's been a period where that investment thesis has actually panned out. Avoid penny stocks. If you buy them, buy companies in areas where you have domain-specific expertise.

For example, if you are an engineer you can buy companies related to your specialty that you know are likely to outperform. If you have a degree in a biotech major you have an edge when investing in biotech. Etc etc.

But overall, penny stocks are like a lottery ticket with negative expected gains compared to just investing in an index.

Why do YOU think AMD is overvalued? Ryzen 3000 is currently outselling Intel's desktop offerings somewhere in the 3:1 to 4:1 range, and Rome gets released tomorrow - that's where the real money is and where the slaughter continues.

Intel has absolutely no counter until at least the end of 2020, and looking at the current 10nm chips they've releashed for laptops. all the IPC gains are eaten by lower clocks. And by that time, Ryzen 4000 should be around the corner.
