Redpill me on accountants and accountancy. Why should I become an accountant or why should I not?

Take the training on a grad scheme after uni, high pay and good lifestyle (lots of girls, too), well respected. Get chartered, then in mid 20's leave for more interesting work elsewhere, your experience and training will be unimaginably valuable. Don't just remain as an accountant for ever.

You're welcome.

Well accountancy as a profession is somewhat monotonous. It is well paying atleast where I am. But not that sought after.
Now using accounting knowledge and learning to become an Auditor.
That is what is rare and what I am currently pursuing.

It's hard as fuck and it makes no sense. You might just end up dropping out if you do something too above your level. I just want to survive this intermediate accounting class (part of my minor) and never touch accounting ever again. Shit makes absolutely no sense.

I think it just takes a certain mindset. It makes perfect sense to me and I love it in its actual theory. Beautiful thing, balance.

My wife's mother worked her way from teller to national account manager for a major bank. If her half-chink ass can do it, I think you can too.

accounting is somewhat like sewing, knitting, this is why the profession is filled with middle aged lumpy faced irish women. a problem is that these women are not trained to be accountants but usually have a bookkeeping cert for quickbooks. so if you can, build an accounting info system from scratch using excel. you can probably get any back office analyst gig or start your own service. most accountants end up doing bookkeeping work between bigger jobs.

Says the NEET. Robots would be able to replace almost anything at that point. When AI gets that advanced, almost everyone is out of a job. The consulting that I do won't be automated anytime soon.

acounting is disappearing
new ERPS do most of the job, only mom and pop operations still have low level accountatns doing the lettering.Accounting positions get offshored or automatized.
If you want to make it in accounting, specialize in fiscal law and become a tax advisor
way more intersting and you might still have a job in 20 years.
