"im retiring" amount is 10m. although i wouldnt 'retire', just quit my job to manage investments full time. >>17195412I live on less than 10k/year, accounting for taxes, a slight increase in personal expenses(+5k/year), a modest house with land/garden to fuck around, one trip a year(I've renounced to a lot and I want to see places) and two kids anything over 1 mil is overkill for me. I would like to finance a family restaurant to have a productive way to spend my time, got siblings in the field already. Thanks for letting me dream for a bit OP.
>>17197559How do you like those mosquitos and spiders?
>>17195756Sorry to hear about your dad bro.Real life isn't like the romantic comedies, so you got that right. Only your first love will feel like that fairy tale, but that's just unnatural obsession and -probably- teenage hormones. As long as your relationship is comfy, ride it out as much as possible. If you think your gf would be a good wife and mother then you're set for life in that regard.
>>17197549florida is nice but only in certain places. destin is so beautiful

Enough to net 25-50k a year and property that is fully paid off. From there I invest my returns a bit and focus on myself and my hobbies.

holy fuck I missed biz during a bullishrun
Lots of idiots in biz. >Thinking 10% yearly returns are a guarantee>Not accounting for inflation>Wanting to live like a poorfag still with millions in the bank just to NEET it upOnly way some of you are retiring on sub 1 million is if you keep living with mommy. But of course they will want you to contribute once they know you have money.
>>17201093This is my dream, but unironically.
>>17195412Switzerland is arguably the best country in the world by every measure. It's honestly a privilege to be born there, which is pretty retarded that they're letting in so many subhuman migrants.
Chainlink $20 and 5% annually from steaking means I'm retired. I'll probably keep working my side job because 4 nights a week will pay rent+bills. Funnel my linkie gains into ETFs. $60 and I'm getting a downtown condo. Maybe an industrial type loft if zoning allows and it's not too janky an area. Upstairs will be some swanky shit with stone everywhere, sauna, hottub, all that shit with nice entertaining space. Mainfloor will be divided into gym space, hydro/LED greenhouse, mush room, brewing, and playspace for a cnc mill, drill, and similar shit.It will be like a private hackerspace for just me and hand picked friends. Even in the southeastern US a lot of hackerspaces are dominated by cucky lib sjw types which is annoying and theirs a million stupid rules. We're all going to make it, frens. Our lives are finally going to start for real.
Do you people ever think about inflation? I see all these threads talking about xxx to make, but that value will keep changing with the passage of years. Basically you cant never stop investing if you wanna be rich your whole life. I'd say instead of aiming for "a number" aim for a consistent surplus
>>17201028Yes this. Im glad everyone isnt stupid here
>>17195412$5 million
>>17204048I don't want to be rich, I want to be comfy.
1.6 million USD. It would be enough that after taxes having 50K/year to use from investment income and that would be above poverty line level for the next two halving of value of the United States Dollar (shitcoin btw) due to inflation that happens like every 25 years on average.

>>17197136No it's not retard just look at the Swiss National Football Team you've got multiple Albanians in that team. A quick google search will tell you that there are 250k Albanians in Switzerland. That's as many as we have in the entirety of the USA and we have a much larger population overall
>>17202499>Sweden is basically all dark hairFucking liar, you've never been to Sweden.

Where in the USA is the environment similar to Switzerland? I'm guessing Colorado?
>>17201093Now you will just have to worry about being invaded by pirates and get eaten by sharks, snakes and giant mosquitoes. Or perhaps dying from a simple scratch because there is no healthcare around and it becomes infected. And so follows.
>>17195412My goal is ~3,2M euro. will hit that number when i turn 50 (with 8 ROI on my investments and 2k euro into stocks every month). I might retire earlier or later but I'm not in a rush.

With $2M I can build the life that I want without ever having to stress about money.$20M is really ideal though.

>>17196152this. we've all been 20 year old and did the little spreadsheet and 7% returns and inflation and calculated omg if I have this much I can live forever without working.guess again wagie. you need at least double what the numbers tell you.
