The market was leveling out and set up for a small drop yesterday then a calm rebound and slow bull run till mid April.

They said they were gonna do it.

I know you have some major fantasy about how the markets work and I wish it was the way things really are, but we live a clown society.

Yes the uncertainty of the ramifications of the virus cause the initial drop but you can see where the Fed pumps the market (buys securities).

Trump had them pump the market that Friday afternoon he spoke and we closed up so he looked like a market god or something.

Then the Fed pumped when the initial testing numbers came in to cushion the blow and then the Fed pumped yesterday to stop the drop from the unemployment numbers.

It doesn't seem proper because it isn't.
It doesn't seem fair because it isn't.

>grocery stores have people standing next to each other looking through items, or fighting over ones like toilet paper

The thing is, people travel even when they know they shouldn't. It's like those retard students who went on spring break in Miami, knowing they shouldn't party but they did anyway and there were confirmed cases. The same also applies to retard tourists who are still going to hot spots. People have no choice but to run for the toilet paper now. It's going to be like this for a while
>hoarders stocked up on toilet paper already to either resell, or just to keep in the house
>people who saw the hoarders stock up either laughed at them, or decided to buy a little extra themselves
>stores completely wiped out of toilet paper
>customers panic worrying they won't be able to get any
>line up the next day before the store opens
>store opens and people rush in, buying way more than they need, clearing out the isle within minutes
>even if they have more in the back the workers won't stock it because they don't want to get mauled down by a crowd trying to take it off them before they put it on the shelf
>constantly seeing empty toilet paper shelves now makes anyone who happens to get their on time buy a shitload extra

I weighed the option and decided it was the responsible thing to miss out on a paycheck for a while rather than risk infecting them. Both of them have cancer, and if they got it they'd definitely die.
I'm still shopping around on my stocks. I've bought some haliburton and KTOS, along with some KTOS calls that have already gone up in value. If they go up much higher today I'll sell one or two of my calls, because I'm anticipating that this pumping won't last forever.

>> No.18122916

I'm buying stocks. Why? I don't actually know. My irrational side feels the end of everything as we know it. But really blah blah something about time in the market rather than timing the market and something about not trying to call the bottom. We both still get paid. We are both still going to get paid for the foreseeable future. We still have a decent disposable income. We have no significant debt. We could survive on one income easily. We could survive on savings easily for many years. We have decent family and friends who'd step in and help if there was a genuine need. I still have very healthy cash reserves.

I think ... that it is because cv19 has spread across the world, the world has issued a response, that response is playing out and ensuring it continues to play out like this then markets have clearly oversold and the panic is unjustified. It is a good, but uncertain time to buy if you are risk tolerant and can afford to sit on your investments for a few years.

Of course the economic consequences of a failure to return to business as usual have yet to be priced in, but then typically that'll be crab for a while and pick back up Q3/Q4 so mostly irrelevant to my decision.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not going all in. I fear a further 30% fall, but trading throughout this period have reduced my losses from 26% to 13% and I'm still accumulating stocks. A 30% drop in the amount I've invested since is not worrying to me. The initial drops were far more painful.

Also I should have gotten out of the market. I was preaching doom to everybody for March back in December and January.

They say they want to decrease their liabilities.
They want me to send all the billing we have pending from WO done and even offered to pay us sooner than the contracted 60 days.

from the highly acclaimed and respected creator of trump stakes, and trump college come trump dollars, the only currency a real businessman will ever need to fulfill all of his business needs. your business is failing you need a bailout? no worries, hey jerome crank it, TRUMP DOLLARS. you produce shit, your planes fall out of the sky like rocks, and your pajeet engineers are bobbing their heads and saying nothing to worry sir. NO WORRIES trump dollars. you haven't been competitive auto maker since the horse and buggy era, WORRY NOT, trump is here to help with his TRUMP DOLLARS. each dollar is memetically resistant to inflation, and has a space for the owner of the dollar to fill with a sharpie to decide for himself how much each dollar is worth, don't let big government tie you down with their business ethics, and regulations, grab your dreams with TRUMP DOLLARS.

like, even with debt and whatnot aside. like, say boeing got fucked somehow but everything else was normal, probably no one would give a shit. it wouldn't cause the whole economy to collapse, certainly not the whole GLOBAL economy.

The bubble has been baked into the market since 2008/9. Look at the brief downturns over the past decade. They were the warning signs. People have been anticipating a reason to pullout for a while.

Also, record low unemployment numbers don't account for the fact that people are taking on multiple part-time jobs as a result of reduced hours due to the ACA.

without the virus though, we would have just continued along with all the debt like we have been. the whole fucking problem with the coronavirus is that you can't just fix it by printing money like you could with the 2008 financial crisis, because that was a strictly financial crisis and this is a health crisis so it won't get fixed until the disease is fixed.

basically the debt isn't a problem and doesn't exist until some shit goes down that makes it so people can't keep producing revenue. the sad thing is this is a cycle that's going to keep continuing, during the good times people are always going to overleverage because the times are good and nothing can go wrong. then when something does go wrong inevitably, everything crashes, then recession, then it recovers and the good times come again and everyone forgets and overleverages again.

im only 28 years old. my plan is to research these boom bust cycles and plan my stock trading strats accordingly. the sad thing is that this is going to happen again, and again, and again. after coronavirus crash we're gonna have another recession that goes into another massive bull run where people overleverage into another crash. you can make a killing though, if you know about it. i was too inexperienced and afraid to short during this crash, i didn't think this was even possible in real life, but now i've learned.

tl;dr debt doesn't exist in the good times. when something bad happens, that's when all of a sudden it exists and everything gets fucked. this keeps happening over and over.

Every country on earth is in debt and you are retarded to think our debt would be this high without bringing the economy to halt for corona.

>Anon, there are/were some underlying issues here with the economy.

oh for sure. but those problems are always around and literally don't matter as long as something majorly bad like corvid doesn't happen. like, as long as everyone can go to work and operate the machines it's fine apparently, that's why everything is so majorly fucked right now because corvid is causing everyone to stay home. if people can work then the FED can just bbrrrr its way out of anything, hell even in this crazy time the FED is still doing that, that's how powerful that shit is.

the only underlying issue that matters is that during the good times (and over a decade is a pretty long good time to be fair, 10 years is a good chunk of someone's lifespan), people are always going to wind up thinking it will last forever. literally the great depression had the same thing happen, you had the roaring 20's and people thought stonks only go up and the crash happened because everyone was overleveraged and panic sold which snowballed. this has been happening cyclically forever, people can't help but overleveraged when times are good. 2008 happened because people thought housing prices could only go up. basically whenever anyone thinks any given asset can only go up, they overleverage, and when it goes down, they panic and everything crashes. and this repeats itself.

honestly this is a perfect time to learn TA and QA and learn how to day trade. tons of volatility and volume makes it easy to get in and out of positions for nice returns. just start by paper trading and go from there.

>Something is happening with Saudi Arabia, Russia and China. I think they are in the midst of a deal.

definitely. There's ton of powershifting going on. That's why the oil crash is happening and also, maybe, the powers that be in the western world knew this was coming, therefore they put all of their propaganda machines in full throttle to prepare us for a very reduced oil-based economy (that means no oil for you, peasant) with all of this (((climate change))) bullshit.

Except I don't give a shit about what poor people believe they need, they believe they need what they're told they "need". I'm interested more in what everyone (not just the lowest form of human life) needs and what people need to do productive things need. There are always distractions for the masses but I'm interested in the productive and meaningful aspects of human existence not what kind of shoes Tyrone was told to buy this week
