Inbefore: I'm done accumulating, so yes, my bags are heavy. I was also the one shilling Kleros way before the jeets came in (>>>>/biz/thread/S14848557)) and I feel like this one is a nobrainer too.

Rocketpool (RPL). The first decentralized pool stake platform for Ethereum 2.0.

>Insane low marketcap - roughly 4.5 mil
>based white team
>have been working since 2016 on this platform
>Consensys are partners with Rocket Pool (check their website)
>You pay some RPL to run a node (minimum is 16 ETH). To join a node/pool, you don't have to pay RPL.
>If you run a node, you get the ETH rewards AND RPL rewards on top of that (fees). If you stop running your node, you even get the RPL back that you used to pay for running the node at the begin.

You might have noticed the increased amount of ETH 2.0 shills on /biz/ lately, as rumors are the casper update is going to be released soon. Rocketpool is auditing the contracts as we speak, it will go live in June.

Overall, it's a based staking platform and if shitcoins like SNX or AAVE can moon, this one will reach another universe. ETH 2.0. is going to be a big hype and momentum and a decentralized staking platform is the way to go.

Be smart /biz/ , don't buy when it's getting shilled massively. Goodluck.

2 reasons:

1. It's centralized, they have your tokens so technically it's not yours.

2. Rocketpool offers you the possibility to be a validator (just like with binance or coinbase) and you earn ETH rewards (obviously) + RPL rewards. It's way more lucrative to have a node on Rocketpool rather than staking on a CEX.

Screencap this: Decentralized staking platforms will be the new hype. LinkPool and Rocketpool will both moon.

You can obviously buy your bluechip shitcoins or the massive jeet bags (Kleros post pump, RLC whatever) or you can actually put it in some work to connect the dots. /biz/ has been a shitty place the last 2 years for breadcrumbs, let's bring that back again.

If you validate and stake with Rocketpool instead of running your own node, your node will be buttfucked by everyone else’s ETH slammed into it which costs obviously more electricity and processing power, storage, network bandwidth (a lot, in fact. With POS systems there is a lot of traffic) which is why you get the RPL fees. These are the fees that others pay you for raping your node with their ETH staking

I don’t know how you guys feel, but I like to make my own money not wagecuck for others by running their node for them and penis raping my node. If I’m being serious, there is actual infrastructure degradation that will take place if you validate for rocket pool when compared to validating for just yourself. Plus if you fuck up, you lose all your fees that you collected.

It’s just grouping and centralizing together something that was inherently meant to be decentralized. Fucking retarded

Just use a VPS, voila, bandwith problem solved. Rocketpool clearly thought about this problem too and this token mechanism is literally created to make sure it attracts people to host a node on their platform. You seriously believe that the net cost of running a node on Rocketpool will be lower than running a node on your own kek? Ill 100% rather join a platform like LinkPool or RocketPool for my staking rather than centralized chink exchange or coinbase who wants my papers.

Decentralized staking platforms will be the next thing, you have to be stupid as fuck to not see that one coming.

I understand that but there are 17,9 million rpl tokens to be used 1:1 for each node putting up 16 eth and also 16 rpl . This means there is room (with the network capacity of around 50%) for over a million nodes. I don't have to tell you there will never be 1 million nodes staking for eth, meaning theres too much rpl tokens for it to increase significantly in value. it will never be 1:1 with eth at least.

the white paper says for every eth on the node there should be 1 rpl token. but this also varies dpeending on network capacity. With more capacity needed, less rpl per node is required t be present. If there are too many nodes running, more are required. The balance theyre going for is 1:1 but as I said before tthere are way too many tokens to ever justify 1:1 value which is what OP and his buddy are implying.

are you fucking serious? A VPS for running an ethereum node?

This is who you’re taking advice from, fellow anons. This idiot thinks that running a $5 VPS with a 10gb limit on storage would be enough for a node. Reality check, kid: for each node you need to synchronize the whole ETH chain which is several hundred GB, and you can forget about using regular storage for that. It better be SSD.

No, you idiot, learn to read. It is more cost to run a node in Rocketpool because you run for other people.
Are you just a 16 year old brainlet? Do you just not know how staking and nodes work technically?

From the white paper:

This determines the current RPL:ETH ratio where:
 x axis represents the current utilisation of the network (0-100%)
 y axis represents the amount of RPL required to stake 1 ether
 Ratio sweet spot is approximately 1:1 between 40%-70%.
 If the network is underutilised, RPL required increases (sharply under
15%). This prevents several attack scenarios.
 If the network is near capacity, RPL required reduces significantly to
prompt new node operators to come online and increase capacity

He is a brainlet trying to act smart so I didnt want to respond to him in a serious way but I will for you:

There might also be a very slightly higher processing cost for running an RP node as it has to communicate with RP network contracts and stuff periodically (obviously, as it's decentralized). That will be very marginal compared to the costs of running the beacon node etc in the first place.

His whole story about bandwith is a fucking joke, you will have the same as running your own node. The only difference is that a smartcontract is involved in the game and you get paid more rewards as people join your node.

What a fucking idiot. Read some literature on running ETH nodes you fucking brainlet. Each validator, I.e. a stack of 32, need to have their own chain saved and synchronized. The bandwidth costs are some of the highest costs for running a PoS validator, but let alone fucking that, you’re actually ignoring the fact that the whole reason you get RPL tokens is because you’re performing validation on behalf of other people’s ETH. There is literally a linear fucking increase in your costs to run the infrastructure for each additional stack of 32 ETH. With rocketpool it is even higher because you need to account for all that rocketpool network bullshit in addition to the ethereum network itself.
> the only difference is that on top of running a validator node for the ethereum network I need to suck dicks on the smart contract network of another fucking pool of computing nodes for no fucking reason whatsoever

All you’re doing with rocketpool staking is having you’re node available for other people’s ETH. The RPL token is just a payment for that, which by the way gives a cut to the developers and has some features where if you fuck up you lose all of your fees on this shitty, unneeded token

This 16 year old literally has no idea how blockchain networks work.
