Sup, /biz/

I'm applying for a bank teller job, and I think there's actually a pretty good chance I'll get it. Four questions:

1) Do tellers work seated? There is no way I can possibly stand up in one place for 8 hours.
2) When the bank is slow and there are no costumers, can I pull out my Kindle (or if that's too conspicuous, a small smartphone) from my suit pocket and read e-books? I'm gonna be bored out of my mind otherwise.
3) Are there any opportunities for advancement beyond going from part-time teller to full-time teller?
4) Can CCW holders bring their firearm to work?

Thanks!

>1) Do tellers work seated? There is no way I can possibly stand up in one place for 8 hours.
Not often, but it depends on the branch. What does your bank look like? Do the tellers have stools to sit on? Mine don't. And why can't your stand for 8 hrs? Are you just a fat fuck?

>2) When the bank is slow and there are no costumers, can I pull out my Kindle (or if that's too conspicuous, a small smartphone) from my suit pocket and read e-books? I'm gonna be bored out of my mind otherwise.
I highly doubt it, but it all depends on your manager. They'll give you some stupid busy work if it's slow.

>3) Are there any opportunities for advancement beyond going from part-time teller to full-time teller?
I've seen it happen before, where tellers end up becoming regional operations supervisers. It all depends on the culture of the bank.

>4) Can CCW holders bring their firearm to work?
I doubt it.

1. Not in Australia, but possibly elsewhere. I used to work 10hr shifts at my old job standing up, was probably not great for my legs.

3. Plenty of people I know have started as tellers to get 'bank experience' and then upon graduating their business degree they move up into more advanced roles or other jobs by having that intro level experience.

>2) When the bank is slow and there are no costumers, can I pull out my Kindle (or if that's too conspicuous, a small smartphone) from my suit pocket and read e-books? I'm gonna be bored out of my mind otherwise.

You can if you're not tooobvious about it, i would just read news sites on my computer when it was slow

>3) Are there any opportunities for advancement beyond going from part-time teller to full-time teller?

Well in my branch we had a guy who served as a manager of tellers, that was the furthest you could go

>4) Can CCW holders bring their firearm to work?

No idea, not from the US.

Sr loan officer banker here. I started as a teller many years ago. Yes you often get a chair but get used to standing, it's not that hard.

Absolutely fucking not can you use a kindle and if you are you are absolutely not worthy of getting a promotion. You can occasionally use your phone but don't make it a habit and do something resourceful with your time.

Absolutely there are opportunities but you have to work hard.

Reading is overrated. Nobody who wins on consistent basis or knows anything worthwile write god damn public books, it's the losers who write most of the stuff.

The few how can do, they do instead of writing.

If you want to make money you got to start trading or investing your money.

The earlier age the better, most people pay their mistakes as they learn.
