Well sure, anything could happen but we had all that a year ago and semiconductors still outperformed the market. My perspective is more long term than the next year or two and I just can't see how semiconductors (the largest sector by the way) can be held down at the rate information technology is hurtling forward. Even something as simple as the miniaturization of CPUs was thought for a bit to be at a standstill but come to find out it was just Intel jerking their dicks all over 14nm++++++++. Now we have TSMC with a roadmap all the way down to 3nm with the current fabs at 7. Down to 3 will carry us another 5 years. And then whatever comes after that. On and on it goes.
