Iced coffee should be either cold brew or an iced americano (cold water, instead of hot). it's very easy. you can use some mediocre store brand crap for cold brew, and it usually tastes a lot better than mediocre name brand crap hot. 1:4 or 1:5 ratio of grounds to water should be good. If you want it hot, go ahead and add some boiling water to about a double shot - bang americano.

bro i just said cold brew with shit like fucking Dunkin or Green Mountain. You can even do preground. just dump it in a container with water, cover it, and leave it there for 12 - 24 hours, then you strain and store. I want to hear from you on Thursday or Friday saying you tried this.
>tinkering
Google it if you don't believe me. Cold brew is unfuckably easy.
>tea
I find the art of tea much harder. Brewing tea is really finnicky in comparison to brewing coffee imo. The great part about brewing with room temp water is that a lot of the off flavors you might get from a crappy roast or the production line is that they aren't as pronounced. you can't really get away with maxwell, but if you accept SBUX black or cappuccino, then you should be ok with pee's, gevalia, green mountain, ...blue mountain (? they have that kicking horse one), dunkin, maybe even eight o clock. It's also nice with some older beans too. Again. 1:4 or 1:5 volume ratio between grounds and water 12 to 24 hours, depending on climate. I'm not gonna pay attention to the last two lines there.

I can understand not liking coffee, but I don't understand pumping it with sugar. Makes me throw up in my mouth just thinking about it.

Cold coffee is good too! I make small batches of cold brew all the time. Smoother than hot brewed coffee because the coffee doesn't extract the same way as it does at high temps. Drop a cardimom in with it for some aroma.

I am a bear but I admit the bulls have won due to rigging the system. What occurred Monday was criminal and the idea of the public buying out the exorbitant debt of private companies is abhorrent. This debt was accrued solely to finance share buybacks and make the green line go up. If you really want the money you should just issue more shares. But no, the public is going to retrospectively bankroll the director's performance bonuses and the shareholders speculation.

We are experiencing modern day feudalism. Anyone without assets, by interacting with the USD or any currency pegged to it, is handing over their labour directly to asset holders. You cannot escape if you contribute to society. The rich will get richer and the unlanded will pay for it. And the worst part is, get away with it all, just by saying the bailout is because of the coronavirus, even though this crisis has been coming ever since interest rates became too low and companies got greedy.

Can you explain this to me for a moment? My understanding was that corporate bonds represented loans, similar to the way US bonds represent loans. I interpreted this as companies effectively taking out "loans" from the government, which they will be obligated to pay back to the bond bearer in the future.

Even if this is a totally stupid misapprehension of what corporate bonds are, I'd just like to gain a clearer understanding.

Deflation is occurring, so the FED can print more money without consequences in the near term, as USD flows out to the rest of the world. In a few years the USD will tank in value like it did after the GFC, but this isn't a real problem for now.

Money printing is equitable. Everybody 'loses' the same share of value as the wealth they have. The problem is where you spend the BRRRR, as anyone who doesn't get it will lose out.

Directors need to make their share prices rise, and investors demand they do so or the directors won't get their enormous pay packages. So the directors take out a loan, buy back company shares, and the share price rises. This makes everyone happy. The problem is, the share price stops rising once the buybacks stop. But the line has to go up. So companies take on more loans and buy back more shares.

These loans are junk. They will never be paid back. The companies who have taken them are "zombies" - existing only on paper and unable to service the huge debts. They only exist as they can borrow emergency coronavirus money from the government. When that money stops, these companies will disappear and drag everything down with them.

The FED does not want that to happen. These loans are integral to the financial system, being held by banks and investors themselves in the form of CDOs. But they know this is the wobbly side of the financial system, so they have to prop it up.

Jerome is doing this by buying the shitty company debt which will never be repaid. He is doing so with printed money. This means that every single man, woman and child is losing money to pay for loans which were used to make the green line go up. That money never went to expanding companies, taking on new workers, or investing in making more money. It went directly to directors and shareholders. That is why on Monday the line went straight up - the ENTIRE American economy is paying trillions of dollars to make the green line go up.

I'm not challenging the position, I'm just trying to understand why they're the same thing. If somebody is in debt and they come to me for a loan, I'm not "buying their debt" by giving them that loan. I may be indebting them to me with an additional loan, which might or might not help them address their current debt situation (obviously these companies aren't interested in being fiscally prudent, but that's beside the point). See, I was with you up to this point. Giving a loan is not "buying debt", it's just increasing the loan recipient's debt. I'm not arguing that these measures are in any way sustainable, but I'm confused over the claim that the fed is "buying debt". From my perspective, you wouldn’t shut down a city like this just because a handful of cases pop up. We all know chinese coronavirus numbers are heavily skewed.

People in USA have simply grown tired of the virus, and neglect face masks, social distancing, and itch to hang out at bars right now. This has absolutely nothing to do with ITS JUST THE FLU. I think if cases and hospitalization increases again (which it is slowly in some states), governments will be very reluctant but forced to make quarantine 2. No schools, no indoor stuff, no offices.

Incase you brainlets haven't realized yet:

Oil production cuts are not the same as export cuts. Export cuts have not dropped as much as production cuts.

Oil production cuts are self administered. Nigeria and others are going to keep pumping crude and no one is going "stop them", especially not some self policed production cut.

Oil inventories have not recovered. There is a "hope of recovery" narrative being peddled by every single media outlet right now, and retail has gone balls deep into oil for that reason, but the physical situation has not gotten any better.

US shale is collapsing and since it's literally national security that we can produce our own oil, expect bailouts soon.

>If the fed went around to various credit agencies and investment firms and bought companies' debt from them, that would be buying debt.
Companies became too indebted after years of taking loans to finance buybacks, without an uptick in profits. This meant that they had to find a new way to get money. They repacked the shit debt into the form of CLOs. This should start ringing alarm bells. Banks sold these CLOs to investors, taking the debt off their books, so they could issue more loans to the companies, who could buy back debt with it.
The FED is buying this useless, junk debt from the people who bought these CLOs. It is very much the FED relieving third parties from the unscrupulous debtors (zombie companies), there are just extra steps involved. This is not refinancing, it is just handing over the money knowing you will never see it again. But it's fine, because the public is going to pay for it anyway. This is far, far worse than 2008 and the CLOs are an order of magnitude greater than the CDOs which caused the last crash.

Pretend the american economy is worth 10 trillion. There are hundreds of thousands of Richard Fucks, each with debts of another 10 trillion.

Scenario 1: the FED issues a billion in loans to Richard Fuck's company. It does this a million times. It buys this junk debt which will never be paid back. Huge amount of debt will be heaped on society, but the companies which do survive will eventually help pay some of it. This is what occurred in 2008.

Scenario 2: the FED prints 10 trillion dollars and buys all the bad loans. The companies are suddenly in the clear, Richard Fuck has got his bonuses, and the shareholders were exposed to absolutely 0 risk whatsoever. They have made huge profits and done extremely well for themselves. The problem now is, money is now worth half of what it was. Average Joe's college savings are now only worth $50,000. This is what is occurring now, on a countrywide and global scale.

Every single person in American (and the world, as the USD is the reserve currency) is currently handing over a large portion of their money, obligation free, to investors and asset holders who made terrible greedy investments. It is literally feudalism. The asset-rich will get to keep their huge profits, and the middle and lower classes will suddenly find they are working for half the money they used to be in real terms, and their savings are worthless.

It is, literally, the greatest transfer of wealth from the poor to the rich in human history.

I consider that a bit of a linguistic sleight of hand, to be perfectly frank. Kind of like when people talk about the fed "socializing" these industries by injecting money into the market through QE. It might be a snappy quip, but it isn't technically accurate.

Yeah, the fed has created an environment where those with enough money, have no ability to fail. There is no reason not to take excessive risk because when every company does it in aggregate the fed will just bail them out. There is no reason for a rich person to leverage his company up to the maximum risk, so that he can meet his own stock incentives or bonuses, if anything goes wrong, the fed is there to bail him out.

But there is not bailout for the average person. Lots of people during during the first day of the lockdown, fuck you you're laid off / furloughed. No fed to save them. Then the government creates PPP to keep people on payrolls, but companies laid people off anyway, then companies have the absolute gull to bitch about how they can't pay the loans back to the government updates PPP to allow more people to be laid off.

All the while the fed is inflating people's savings to bailout companies that lay people off in mass.

>>19764266

The fed is "socializing risk," because the risks all these companies take are shouldered on the backs of the average person. The people at the top running the companies benefit the most from taking extreme risk, and when shit hits the fan the fed bails them out at the cost of the public dime by inflating the money supply. Everyone in the country is forced to pay for the failures of people running these failing companies, while they pay themselves massive salaries and bonuses funded by the public.

I said several times that I understand why this is unsustainable fiscal policy. I understand how this produces a cycle of consolidated phantom wealth creation and an exacerbation of outstanding debts which will eventually come to a terrible head. I just wanted to understand how giving out additional loans to debtors constituted "buying debt". Buying corporate bonds is not buying debt, it's increasing debt. Buying debt leaves the net amount of debt even.

All despite the fact he would be under much less financial strain if he was actually allowed to get the mortgage instead of paying exorbitant rent pushed up by people's inability to get mortgage.
