Should I fake a bachelor's degree? What are the repercussions? Is this even feasible considering most companies do background checks and call your references?

They’ll probably just quietly remove your name from the job application. Maybe out of like 1000 you’ll get a few that will hire you and not check. But do you really want to live with having to lie about college for years like that? Literally every workplace convo contains “where did you go to school?”

Nobody will check that shit as long as it's some liberal arts BA. I wouldn't fake a bachelor's in computer science or anything like that.

as long as it's a worthless type degree they prob won't check. about 5-10% of places you can get away with it, so yes it's worth it. resumes are about lieing as much as possible. always lie your ass off.

Literally no one will check to see if you actually have a bachelors degree. Maybe if you put Harvard business. 99% of degrees are literally just a pass/fail did this person go to college.

>> No.20587170

Don’t do it; will lead to a fraud case from whoever you try to fake it from.

I used to work for one of the UK exam boards, I can tell you that your certification, any for that matter is intentionally set out in a very manner and printed in a particular way.. that it’s possible to pick out the fakes.

If you’re going to a decent paying company, they will check. Used to get qualification checks from Dubai based businesses all the time for expats

OP here. I'm in pursuit of my bachelor's in accounting legitimately, but it's all so tiresome. Couple this with work and the burnout is real. I just wanna increase my income asap, and if I gotta lie, I gotta lie.

Nothing

Go for it

That’s your decision in the end, but the extra income is no good to you if you get caught.

Explore alternative options, including your burnout. If you don’t deal with that then you are going to be batik feel the same and it will screw with your chances to increase your income.

Putting a bandaid on it isn’t going to fix it

Honestly I'm all for faking degrees/experience/etc. So long as you're competent enough at whatever job they're hiring for, who cares? Job market is fucked anyway and the saturation of college-educated workers results in a situation where even jobs that shouldn't require higher education do anyway, simply because it's a buyer's market and the employers might as well pick someone with a degree, all things equal.

So just fucking lie about it. In most cases, the knowledge you gained from college doesn't even apply to the job. Nobody is eve going to check that shit unless it's a federal government job.

Same goes for work experience. Nobody actually bothers checking up on that, so embellish, claim you were full time when you were part time. Claim you were there for 2 years when it was actually less than 1. Nobody gives a fuck and you won't get caught.

Accounting is soul crushing. Why not do finance? An accounting degree can lead into finance. Get a CFA to compliment you accounting BA. Aso anything you do is going to be hard. Being a wagie is hard, faking a degree is tough, studying for college is tough, being poor is tough, choose your fight and do it

Doesn't accounting require some form of licensure? Anything that needs a license shouldn't be lied about
