20615662 No.20615662 [Reply] [Original]

I own 4000 LINK
I would prefer to never sell
But I still want to profit somehow
So should i buy 0.4 LP ?

Sure, but they will not be as profitable as linkpool. They would be here by now.

LP has the most reputable and therefore most profitable nodes. If they can only offer 2% then that would mean the whole staking concept and tokenomics are fucked. This is not something that would be solved by "other staking pools".

>> No.20616972

Every single thread its been noPoolie cope for YEARS. And every month the price of higher and higher. Are you going to wait for staking before you buy? Good fucking luck.
Johnny does indeed rim horses, but the network he created has so many fucking ways of making money it's not even funny. And poolies get a cut of IT ALL.
Currently the most active node so they've obviously got access to the goods.
But don't buy. It's 11k, after all.

Where are they? Staking is closer than ever. If they want to build a nice parametric score in the reputation system in order to be more profitable than Linkpool, now -in this pre-staking stage of the network- is their time to shine. Check reputation.link, why would some of the top 5 nodes share their revenue with literal whos when they can snap their fingers and have 20 venture capitals knocking at their doors to supply them LINK at a better rate than any other stakeable node?

>> No.20617344

>>20615662
I own 6k Link and 0,16 LP. Been thinking a lot lately if I should dump some link to increase my LP stack since I’m afraid The price will skyrocket if staking is announced at SmartCon.

>> No.20617747

>>20617254
My guess is that Linkpool will the only one to offer staking directly to the plebs. The only way to run a node if you don't have the technical knowledge (99% don't) will be with NaaS, another Linkpool service - and of course LP share owners will get a cut of that too.
Other staking pool will probably offer private staking to "early investors" or "advisers" but not to linklet neets.

>> No.20617890

Isn’t LP that old /biz/ meme scam to take LINK from plebs?

>> No.20618085

>>20617037
Ok, 14k. If you don't have at least 7k to drop on a half after three years, you're ngmi so why bother with coming to lp threads? cope cope cope. always cope.

>> No.20618211

>>20617747
>My guess is that Linkpool will be the only one to offer staking directly to the plebs
That was my guess too, it's not profitable to share your revenue with plebs and get only a fee when you can borrow your penalty from Aave and get all your payment for yourself. Lending systems will be the main LINK nodes' liquidity providers, skyrocketing the loans interests and that's where the average Joe will see the profitability of holding LINK

>> No.20618369

>>20617344
What exactly is holding you back? You said it yourself: the staking announcement will have an immediate effect on the price. And there will NOT be enough LP for everyone willing to stake their linkies, it will run out.

The only reason you can still afford a reasonable amount of LP is because people think that reputable pools will just appear and allow them to stake while taking 0%. This, of course, will not be the case.

Five years? Possibly. 1000 is a meme but 200 is not. What I do know is that staking will be a race. Those first in quality nodes will reap the most rewards as the number of link returns you get will diminish as the price moons. You want as many as possible as fast as possible. Linkpool WILL operate top tier nodes. Don't want to make you fomo, but LP will be out of reach soon with ether mooning and staking coming very soon.

Its not a bad bet to invest in LP. They offer different types of incentives for LP holders and remember LP will do ETH staking too. They are aiming for 10% of LINK market cap, which I believe is not too hard for a company like LP with their first mover advantage, integration and relationship with LINK

how much of LINK's tokenomics are tied up with staking though? If staking is the major incentive for holders, sure, i can see 10% of LINK's market cap. But if staking realistically offers like 2% P.A, then is staking really going to be THAT big of a deal? Will not the main bulk of the valuation still come from speculation?

Since when have you started shilling LP so hard? I'm not gonna sell a part of my 19k LINKs to buy LP that costs about 1.4k LINKs. If you noticed, the new T systems mms node said they will be offering staking services in the future. Most likely all of the top baller nodes will be offering staking services if they are overflowed with jobs, but do not have enough LINK to do those additional jobs. Buying LP now is most likely a smart move for 40k+ linkers. For us smaller guys it's just too risky since just buying LINK is good enough.

>> No.20619895

if you want LP, and you believe crypto won't have a downturn in the near future, now would be the time to get it. don't wait until it goes past 60 ETH again.
