The funny thing is advertisers are getting better results without all of the spyware and ad trackers. Most of their ad spend gets gobbled up by intermediaries rather than going straight to the source.

Look, here's the thing: I know BAT is a stablecoin shitcoin (in terms of price) at the moment, and it has been pretty much for its entire existence.

But I remember when BAT and LINK were battling for 50th place range on CMC back in 2018, both had pathetic price action. LINK had a decent pump back then and shot way above BAT in market cap. Then, miraculously, BAT bounced back and took over LINK. It stayed that way for a long time. I remember being happy about it because I didn't own any LINK at the time and hated LINK.

Eventually I bought LINK, and eventually LINK took off. I guess my point is this: some tokens are fucking stablecoin shitcoins, until they're not. Not sure anymore. Defi isn't going away, but its definitely in a bubble and theres too much competition and not enough cash/liquidity. All the defi platforms just keep pumping out shitty governance tokens that the team holds 90% of so the vote is always in their hands. Made some quick money on compound but they made a ton of big executive decisions way too quickly.

Balancer seems to be the next hot defi tool but after that I have no idea what's next. You basically have mkr,compound,balancer and a few handfuls of other tokens competing for the same $2b worth of assets right now. Definitely reminds me of the shitcoin roulette ICO days and it seems like it's already losing steam. Honestly at this point it seems like people are just throwing darts to try and recoup 2017 losses.
