i figure by the time I retire early, dividends should be federally taxed at zero up to $50K (right now its $40K) plus nothing is getting pulled out for SSI or other shit taxes that come out of paychecks.

I can get by pretty well on $36K now. paying taxes now for compounding growth of a stable stream of growing income is a trade off i'm willing to make.

There are some services that serve the split info, but they usually don't have change-of-symbol events, including when a new company starts trading under a symbol of a defunct company. Your best bet is to get rid of any symbol that stopped trading ever and to remove outliers.
