Most likely a win from reddit, and more and more people using it as a layer 2 solution. The solution they have can actually work for dapps unlike OMG. Don't get me wrong, plasma has its place but xDai has the ability to do smart contracts which OMG can't really do now. This will be the de facto choice for all dapp developers for at least the next six months at minimum.

Xdai allows anyone to create a coin of their own. It could be applied to this. And with the gas problems from ETH, it would be the best candidate since the federal govt isn’t going to use something that can’t scale (high gas fees w/ small quantity transactions)

i think you misunderstood me in that c++ is not going to be 'replaced' with python any time soon.
my point is that the major fud against xdai is that its not 9999999 tps and plasma and shiny cat asshole software.
xdai is not the most technologically advanced however it is the one project with 100% the least hairballs of shit to deal with in terms of incorporation/bridging/porting.
