Do you know that art is sold for actual money today in the real world? Nothing stops you from taking an HD pic of Mona Lisa, but it won't have any value because it's not the original. NFTs are scarce and represent ownership. If for whatever reason this dumb chad image was to be traded for 100ETH at some point, you could eventually start using it for many things, from trading to collateral to reselling with royalties,etc. Your saved jpeg however won't be eligible to use as collateral loan, sorry. NFTs are the keys to unlock a market so huge it makes my head spin. The possibilites of NFT + DeFi are insane. Imagine playing an MMORPG and getting a rare item tradeable as NFT, it has a real world value and can be used as collateral for a loan on AAVE. You then borrow USDC and put it in yCRV then put that in the yearn vault to earn an APY. New jobs are created all the time, NFT + DeFi will create jobs you never thought were possible.

If the Chad meme was published as an NFT FIRST, and then circulated as a normal meme, it would be worth a shitload and actually scarce. But its the opposite, so its worthless.
