Corona panic.

Feels good to have been stocked up long before everyone else. Feels kinda bad that it turned out to be a nothing burger, but feels kinda good that I am stocked up on food while it was cheap before the government locked everything down and inflated the currency.

Just remember to panic before everyone else. Imagine believing a dangerous virus is on the loose and being asshole to elbow with this many people fighting over scraps at fucking Costco.

I mean, I dropped a good 2k on food and supplies in January and early February, but at least I didn't react to Corona because the news told me to. All the information we had in January made this thing look REALLY fucking bad.

I personally didn't see much because I was already prepped, but even the grocery store in my small town of Iowa ran out of all kinds of shit for weeks. Especially paper goods (shit wipes).

But in all seriousness, guys... The virus is a complete nothing burger. The actions the government has taken since then on the other hand... Well, things are going to get much worse before they get better economically speaking.

Since we are between us here, let me tell you one thing. If the Mainstream medias tells you there is gonna be a great catasrophy, nothing will happen. And indeed nothing happened. On the other hand, if their are one day lots of rumors, and the mainstream tells you it's fine, it's false rumors, fake news, then something really serious is happening.

I didn't understand the paper products shortages at all. I was more worried about food than making sure I had a huge surplus of toilet paper. I only shit like every other day so worse comes to worse, I'd just take a quick shower if I somehow ran out of toilet paper. Only things I really stocked up on were cans of chili, sardines and peanut butter. Those are all things I eat anyways, so I made sure I had a bunch just in case.

We knew about the R0 in late January / early February I think, and about the close relation to SARS which had a non-trivial mortality rate.
Everybody who had this information back then and wasn't a total fucking retard knew that a pandemic was inevitable and millions of deaths very likely.
I bought so much canned food and stayed indoors for about two months when Covid arrived in Europe - if I had thought about it a little more deeply I could have made a lot of money but sitting on half a years supply of toilet paper was especially fun so it's okay.

Some guy got Coronavirus, it literally happens everyday in every major city at this point. Most people survive. Even for Trump, a fat fuck, he has the odds in his favor. Also the majority of Americans see Trump as creating chaos. All democrats, accelerationists, and even some boomer conservatives who vote for him anyways. So anyway this plays out I don't see it having much of an effect on the markets.
