You can go through them and pull the good ones for grading. Be wary though, grading with PSA is now a 9 month or so process and filtering through damaged cards is a chore. PSA 10 literally means almost perfect or perfect, not overlooking any manufacturing errors, meaning most cards fresh out of the pack from the 80's won't get PSA 10. The areas of the card they look at are edges, surface, corners, and centering, and in my opinion, weighted in that order. a micro scratch, but of dust, small hair, ink dots from the printing process, slight discoloration can all fuck up surface grade. It really is a chore, but it is financially rewarding if you have the eye and patience for it.

not when they're in PSA, BGS, or SGC cases. The fact they are graded means they are authentic, ebay knows this. And, good luck finding a perfect match acrylic case to put the fake into. All major graders protect their case manufacturing as tightly as Coca Cola controls it's formula. You generally need to pay above store buylist prices and then below market prices. So you really need to expect to get 15-20% below "market" price for what you're selling. Your best bet is to sell via ebay so you need to factor those prices in or sell on facebook groups. TCGplayer is open to US residents and I believe has cheaper fees than Ebay so might be easier to go that route instead. Yugioh cards have a much smaller market than Pokemon and MTG; My exp mostly comes from MTG and the market moves fast good cards will sell within a week or two on ebay.

In the 70s and 80s vintage furniture, paints, and decor in general was growing at the same rate. My mom specializes in identifying those kinds of items and resells. She is saying that the market isn't even a fraction of what it used to be as people my age simply don't want to buy them. The bubble lasts only as long as the generational interest does, but how one gauges that is hard to know. She was routinely seeing the same returns as many of you are now. 10x 50x 100x in many cases in less than 5 year periods. Its a shame to because some of these items were top craftsmanship and incredibly low circulation to where it eventually wouldn't exist anymore if not kept in pristine condition. People wanted printed pictures on cardboard/mass produced plastic(FunkoPop or whatever its called) over gorgeous handcrafted items. Comic books are generally out of fashion too but in like 30 years when the kids now who are all exposed to this shit via movies and video games are boomers & have money and want some cool "vintage" collectible to show off to their friends, there will be another surge in sales and prices.

My dad collected vintage guitars and amps and at the height some of those guitars were worth $15,000+ alone, but younger generations don't have that to spend on an instrument and the market has shrunk so prices have dropped. When electronic music is all played out and analog music is super cool again, people with money will want those early 50's and 60's fenders.

I'm a 35 y/o boomer and I bought some vintage furniture recently, really nice pieces. I got an amazing desk and dresser from the 50's each in near perfect condition. To think I own a piece of furniture that not only looks cool but has lasted 70 years, when most modern furniture you buy won't last you more than 5. I will buy vintage furniture whenever I can, honestly. It's just not that easy to find. Also I paid like $600 for both of these and online they each sell for ~$1500 a piece so I got a deal going to a guy local who does the same thing - collects and refurbs and resells. I probably wouldn't have paid $3k for these but maybe for the desk I would have dropped the $600 alone. As long as it's comparable in price to what I'd be shopping for I'll take a good vintage piece any day of the week because the craftsmanship is so much higher.

Will things even sell if they are graded but not mint? I just check sold listings on Ebay and I have secret rare Dark Magician and LOB Swords of Revealing Light that are probably 8s at best and they went for 1500 and 1000 respectively. Its a shame I played with all these cards when I was younger I was 15 and am 30 now. Who knew? I have more I'm still checking but damn man. I found those 2 in just a few minutes.

Aside from very early MTG (pre-Revised) and actually unique things like prize cards, no card is actually all that rare in reality. Something like a Charizard being 150k or a Blue-Eyes being 30k is entirely due to investors, not due to organic demand. I've been around the market for over 15 years and I know what goes on.

And guess what? Whether you like or not, resealing happens as well. And it's an extremely profitable venture. So is weighing packs. So is even filing false item not as described cases to get free shit from rookie sellers.

I just went through my old collection and being 12 I barely knew about toploaders so I had some of them in top loaders but its funny to see which I did and didn't. I didnt even have my charizards in toploaders or soft sleeve just bare ass in the binder and now they're slightly bent in the middle.
