I actually have to work but on fridays I just don't care. I started work an hour ago but I've just been shitposting until I get enough coffee in me to motivate me to knock out a bunch of shit in a few hours and go back to just appearing online. I used to be so productive when I worked in the office. I would work for like 4-6 hours of the day on most days.

Nowadays it's like I'm back in college literally dealing with

type shit that I can barely get done. I have about 3 hours of meetings every day I just nod my head through and about once or twice a week I spend an hour getting things done on the side that would go noticed if ignored, but otherwise I'm shitposting 6 hours a day.

Wake up at 8:30am, turn laptop on and open slack so I look online. Do some morning stretches and some pull-ups. Make breakfast - join 10:30 daily standup. Do some work until 3pm or enough to look like I was busy. Chill until 5pm then go lift. It’s a comfy life.

My job could easily be done from home but the field is infested with boomers and they don't allow it. If any one has advice on how to escape this hell, please help. I'm currently saving up money to go to a coding bootcamp, mostly for the networking.

It's funny, I do telecoms, all computer work, but my boss doesn't know about basic shit like Audacity. So when I came on board I showed them a bunch of easy editing programs for auto-attendant/phone directory recording; I even documented how to set up the program so his wife could make recordings, but they refuse to learn it.

It's no problem for me, it's just job security, but still sad to see a dude not even at 50 yet, and he's given up on learning new things.

My company is balls deal in merger after we bought a smaller company. There's no way I'm getting laid off. We're already running the business with a skeleton crew. Im so lowly support person but im the only one who knows anything about one of our main platforms. But I wish I'd get laid off so I could collect government bucks.
