23432372 No.23432372 [Reply] [Original]

I’ve started shopping at one of the cheapest supermarkets in the uk and try not to spend any money whilst at work on food. This is so I can maximise the amount I put into crypto. It is hard though. If I do one good shop it will cost around £75/ ~$100. I will also spend more at the weekend on maybe a takeaway or going to a cafe. What I’ve realised Is that eating out and takeaways are a big scam. Also shopping anywhere but the cheapest supermarket is a scam, same products just cheaper.

Since lockdown, I only go to cheap supermarkets, that's my entire spend apart from bills and rent.

I bought a 100L chest freezer in 2018 for £100 after seeing how frequently super market errors occur The moment was when there was about 100kg of Heck sausages for 2p each and I couldn't fill more than my little fridge. I'd still have them now if I had a 200litre freezer.

You have to be prepared to take what people would consider ridiculous amounts.

Whenever it's reduced or on offer. particularly every Christmas and early January without fail I pick up all the reduced food. I picked up 40kg of Chicken Breast for £35 and 12kg of smoked salmon (about 36 x 300g £6 packs) for £36. You have to have freezer bags ready and reportion immediately. I have just ran out of a dozen of 6p butter I have from 2018.

If I wasn't saving money this way I wouldn't be spending £35 on 9kg packs of megume koshihikari rice. I have just bought a food dehydrator as buying peppers annoys me. 50p for 8 large fresh peppers then it's £1.20 for 3. But will be doing banana chips. Popcorn is good too, I mean those walkers double crunch crisps are a heart attack waiting to happen.

I am taking another crack at British style Indian cuisine this year after seeing how much takeaways cost...

But making your own pizza bases in bulk and freezing them in balls and having tonnes of frozen mozzarella.

Always making chips or wedges from potatoes.

As far as budget goes... I always have £100-200 I can lay my hands on for reduced food. I spend maybe £5 on veg and £5 on bread and milk and biscuits a week then maybe £5-10 on things like salami / cream / spices and refilling grains, dried beans and peanut butter. I realise I am not 'budgeting' but there is only so many calories you can ram down you. I spend £20/mo on fresh premium coffee beans and order quality rice once a year in a £80-120 order where I will order reduced asian condiments and sauces too.... Sometimes if price is right crates of instant noodles just to have around.

Mate, barbers are scams. You get these £7 crew cuts in all of 4 styles and end up tipping to a tenner cause it ain't no thing. They don't cut evenly when the join the bottom to the top, basically your head is not a fucking lawn or garden hedge. Number 3 around back, number 5-6 on top or a 'trim' with scissors, fuck knows why they bother because they will 'gel' it for you to make it impossible to see what a shit job they have done, then buzz around the sides to join like your peeling a potato. Fresh is just your eyes readjusting to the monstrosity of your head and the relief of leaving.

A £25-30 trim removes split ends and keeps even length where the hair ends. I haven't cut my hair in 7 years but would sooner pay £30 for a haircut than a barbers. Scissors are like £100-200, dye is £20 a pack...

It's painful growing it out though... I understand. But ye just walking around like everyone else with a pint glass silhouette.

But for a woman, roots every 3 month with a trim, at minimum just to be seen at the office. A restyle should be twice as much, dying is another matter. The amount of attention gets her by outdoing the other girls or not being the target of the sociopathic bitches they encounter at their jobs.

I probably spend around $125/ week on average. I buy high quality/ expensive groceries and get delivery 3-4 times/ week. I have a $1MM net worth and food is one of the only things I "waste" money on so I don't really worry about it. I save a lot of time by getting delivery and eating good/ healthy food makes me happy.
If I was a poorfag I would probably go full /Aldi mode/ too.

Hmm. Have to disagree with the haircut stuff. I'm very happy with the way they do mine at the £7 place. I have had shit haircuts in the past (haven't we all) but only once from there, and I never saw the guy who did it again. I suppose it depends how fussy you are, and what style you want. I'm rather conservative so I'm happy with just a normal haircut.

I've never seen a white barber charge £7. Even the Turkish barbers here cost £10 minimum, white barbers £15 for a chav place, £25 for a hipster place

In the USA Aldi is legit. Cheap organic fruits and vegetables and milk and eggs, so you don’t become a retarded chemical zombie. Our grocery bill is less than 100 a week.

Imagine shopping at German discount supermarkets. At that point you may as well go get a food bank voucher. Stop being so disgustingly poor.
