I bought Ethereum in 2016 because it was fancier than Bitcoin. Made money. Hodled for 4 years.
In 2019, I bought more Ethereum because I liked it in 2016.
Updating my research - I have no clue what Ethereum is anymore.
How can I hodl something if the dev team keeps changing it every 9 months?
30% of my portfolio is in Eth. Should I just go 100% bitcoin?

What switched you over?
No corporate treasury will ever hold eth on its balance sheet, an infinitely inflationary token, with protocol changes every 8 months.

Bitcoin doesn't need to be the best or fastest, all it needs to be is the most resilient to outside pressures. The religiosity and minimalist of Bitcoin is the 1 features that can never be replicated.

The Central Bank of Iran just announced that they are holding Bitcoin. Central Bank of Iran will never give a shit about Ether. Vitalik will just blacklist their coins.

The Chinese control btc you retard. Banks almost exclusively hold inflationary currency like fiat. You maxis get dumber by the day

A bank's entire business model is to trade away their inflationary garbage (fiat) for a claim on real assets. Do you understand why banks loan their fiat money away?

Banks take deposits in fiat, which they IMMEDIATELY try to get rid of asap.
That's why a bank's treasury rarely consists of FIAT unless decreed by regulators.

Source: I'm an actual wallstreet banker.

Again - no corporate treasury will hold Eth.

I work in finance at a large bank. Fiat is absolutely needed for capital requirements set by the fed. Banks buy assets and lend their fiat in return for more fiat, not shitty Chinese mined btc. What kind of mental gymnastics are you on? How can you really defend a protocol that is almost entirely control by a foreign entity?

Idgf about corporate treasuryes and iran, store of value and gold 2.0, btc literally capitulated on every cypherpunk dream we had when I entered space selling to custodial infrastructure to suport this new sov narrative
And yes eth is huge risk specially since its literally designed to kill cexes and miners 2 most powerfull groups in cryptoscace, but risk i'm willing to take same as with btc early 2015,
mind you Im not dumb and since I have 4 figures of eth I am leverage short btc/eth ratio for 5-10% of my stack because yes It can be years before market starts acting rational and eth acually can serve more than few k ppl and not grinding to hault
