also just to further show how ridiculous it is:

taking a backup of a private key is as simple as
1. downloading veracrypt
2. creating an encrypted file container
3. putting your private key(s) in that file container
4. e-mail that file encrypted file container to your gmail address and a bunch of other emails
5. finally put the encrypted file container on a USB drive, which you put inside a bank vault

now your private keys are protected (backed up) by all of google's server backups, other e-mail providers backups and a literal bank vault
