unironically true which is why I'm holding 100% GME through Q3
It's an entirely different situation from Q2. For one, the EPS might actually be positive this time considering what we've seen from other B&M retailers (including Nordstrom)
It's also not overbought massively like it was prior to Q2
Short sellers can't afford to double down anymore after they're already in too deep when they doubled down to cause the Q2 dip
A lot of shareholders took profit on Monday and they're waiting with cash on the sidelines to buy the "dip"

if anything it might pull a PLTR where it went -7% right after close then goes back up immediately. All I know for sure is the price right after close is going to be scary volatile, even more than Q2 was where it was going from $7.5 to $6.5 and back literally within seconds

Say the company had 100 shares that were, say, $1 each. The company's assets net worth is valued at $100. If it issues 100 more shares, 100 more dollars are added to its cash reserves, which raises it's net worth to $200. The value of the company's assets (market capitalization) increases by price * shares and the price per share should stay roughly the same, right?

Mining in space will occur within 30 years. SpaceX has already brought launch costs down from roughly $10,000 per kg to LEO to about $1000 per kg to LEO. Starship stands to reduce that number to $100, and musk has said they aspire to eventually reach $10 or $20. This is within the next decade. This will fundamentally change how difficult it is to design spacecraft - spindly, fragile, super-light spacecraft will absolutely be a thing of the past. The bigger you can make your safety factor, the cheaper things are to build, and the tech exists to go latch onto an asteroid, slow-burn it into lunar orbit, and harvest gold and other heavy metals from it.

I unironically see a massive gold crash in 30 years caused by the influx of gold from even one 20-meter metal-rich asteroid.

like the only reason it prob doesn't drop after dividends is maybe because it's a solid company where you're better off just braindead holding the entire time

Divvies are just a different way of paying out income instead of compounding though growth. Don't really get why some people hold them in high regard, but they can often be a decent indicator of a companies health.

Many companies will switch diviies into high gear once they cannot grow any longer, to keep serious investors and dumb money in.

According to https://space.stackexchange.com/questions/438/how-much-fuel-would-one-need-to-launch-a-1kg-object-from-100-000-feet you need 6 kg of propellant just to leave orbit. help im a brainlet on options

Since vega is 0.34 and since IV is probably going to drop to 100% after Q3, am I correct in assuming my April 15C will lose $1.598/share in value after the IV crush?
So basically my breakeven will be if the stock price goes up around +$2.20 because with delta at 0.7, it would have to go up that much to match the loss in value?

So GME could go up +13% (lol) and I'll be in the situation where my April 15c will be +0%?
Am I understanding this correctly? Or am I overestimating how much IV will drop on April calls?

Should I diversify my portfolio?

I wasn't really into trading at first because my economist parents said it is just gambling. I just bought what my smart coworkers suggested.

Now my portfolio exploded, and I'm getting a bit nervous because it's super risky, according to conventional financial planning. Should I reinvest in some other biotech or computer-tech firms?

I heard Twist BIoscience could be good, and I might invest more in Moderna but I dunno what to sell for the $$ and how to time it.

Can someone more experienced give me advice or something to read? I'm very new to this (didn't even know what dividends were until a month ago when a friend asked me if my stocks gave dividends.)

And you are focusing on earth-based mining. Earth-based mining requires digging literal miles down or strip mining areas the size of towns. Asteroid mining requires digging a few meters or just breaking up the ore and putting it in a bag because the concentration of metals in these asteroids is SO MUCH HIGHER than on earth. Heavy metals on earth are concentrated in the mantle and core because.. they are heavy and sunk there in earth's formative eons. Little stayed up in the crust. Designs already exist for space-based centrifuges to separate rock and ore from asteroid material.

Not trying to be contrarian, but I don't understand complex market trends. Is it just undervalued? But what's gonna be their long-term plan to recover?

it's trading at 0.15x of revenues right now because of a perfect storm of massive share buybacks and high short interest
and the effects of a new console cycle is becoming more and more obvious

short sellers mistakenly believed Gamestop was going bankrupt when it was just declining revenues from the ends of a shitty console cycle (no backwards compatibility, pre-Lisa Su AMD chips on the consoles so they were already underperforming pieces of garbage on release, etc)

Since I don't really know many people IRL who trade stocks I figured getting some more opinions would be helpful and obviously I'm not gonna trust normie sources like the Motley Fool since if I invest like everyone else I'll just get basic bitch returns. I guess it's like when they ask you to guess the number of jellybeans in a jar. I would be pleasantly surprised if they turned a GAAP Q3 profit

Strong sales in Nintendo Switch offset declines in the other platforms to spur the rise.

this is another point on why I'm bullish on GME

so many bullish shareholders sold off on Monday and are waiting to see what happens on Q3.
Even with a shitty Q3, credit rating upgrades are overdue for GME as they pay off their 2021 bonds early. I presume there plenty of institutions who are waiting on the sidelines but just have strict criterias on what they're allowed to hold (namely GME's shitty credit rating and it being practically a penny stock to most institutions back then, but now it's holding above a 1 billion market cap)

I still don't understand why Microsoft just doesn't go the console-PC hybrid route

I'd easily pay $700 for the Xbox X if it wasn't a locked ecosystem. The allure of a reasonably priced gaming PC is nice. They can definitely make it cheaper than building your own PC just because of their larger scale of operations

>1TB SSD
>16GB GDDR6 (note: GDDR6 actually matters a lot for AMD)

heck I might even pay $800 just for the convenience, and it'd still be a worthwhile price to pay compared to overpriced gaming PCs

>Don't really get why (dividend stocks) are held in high regard
Dividends signal stability and profit. Starting and maintaining a dividend shows that your company is able to meaningfully extract reliable profits and send them back to shareholders. Tech sectors usually just reinvest profits so you don't get big dividends on those stocks, but consumer goods don't have as much room for expansion and new ideas. Dividends are also nice because its like you're cashing out some of your growth without selling
>500 shares of non-dividend stock, must sell shares if you want to get the money and reinvest in other things
>500 shares of dividend stock, able to hold position of 500 shares while collecting dividends to reinvest in other things
Dividends are A+ for old people and long term bagholder type investors. Most old people started investing pretty late compared to when young people start investing, which is why you see the high dividend boomerfolios as a common strategy with old people. Meanwhile, young people favor growth and more explosive stocks because going back to work at 25 is infinitely easier than at 65
