I'm amazed how well the GTR's are holding up. Im looking to buy one(2017facelift+) with my gains and see 3 year old modelsgoing for what was essentially their MSRP. When you factor in the increasing cost every year I might as well buy a new model cause going used isn't really saving any money.

I can only imagine how much they'll appreciate once production stops and we go to the R36

People buy them up even though the 4.0L V8 is dogshit, you're thinking too much, markets are driven solely by visceral gut reaction

Most E92 M3s go for mid 30K, making them second most expensive only behind the E30 M3

Used Pickup trucks and luxury cars

seriously, this year used car prices have gone up 16%, outperforming most indexes.

>Wholesale used vehicle prices (on a mix-, mileage-, and seasonally adjusted basis) increased 0.07% month-over-month in November. This brought the Manheim Used Vehicle Value Index to 162.0, a 16.6% increase from a year ago.

The non-seasonally adjusted monthly change was -1.2%, which was more in line with what we have been seeing in weekly price trends. The difference between the price metrics is primarily a result of the seasonal adjustment, which essentially left values unchanged from October. The last three years have averaged a 1.2% non-seasonally adjusted decline. Therefore, this November’s seasonally adjusted value was effectively unchanged.

Manheim Market Report (MMR) prices declined at a decelerating pace over the four full weeks of November, resulting in a 2.0% cumulative decline on the Three-Year-Old Index. In the last full week of November, the Three-Year-Old Index declined 0.3%, which was the smallest weekly decline in 11 weeks, and that decline was equal to the average decline for that week over the last seven years. MMR retention, which is the average difference in price relative to current MMR, averaged 99.5% for the four full weeks of November. The sales conversion rate averaged 52% over the same period, which was a decline from October and relatively low for this time of year.

On a year-over-year basis, all major market segments saw seasonally adjusted price increases in November. Luxury cars and pickup trucks outperformed the overall market, while most other major segments underperformed the overall market.

Not to rub it in but I've owned or currently own:
-911 SC
-987 Cayman S
-E36 M3

All of which have appreciated. It's not too hard to buy cars that hold their value, just get cool, somewhat limited shit that's already bottomed out on depreciation.

Sorry bro. If it makes you feel any better, they (really tuner cars in general) can be a real pain in the ass. I don't drive mine nearly as much as I'd like.

I never took it to a shop. Everything done on it was through my own blood sweat tears and hours of labor, including changing 2 clutches in my garage with only jackstands. Everytime I would break something I would limp it home and fix it. I sold it for literal pennies because I was too afraid of what society thought of me. 8 years later I have grown spiritually and see the error of my ways. It was my dream car when I got it and I let it go due to my spiritual immaturity and self loathing.
