people started massively shorting bitcoin at the time cme said they will start btc futures (especially on cme), people thought this is significant and the price started crashing (it would have started anyway but they threw the first stone). throughout the years many have discussed gaps cme has traded at and actual bitcoin price, and most of the time the price of bitcoin ended up again in the range that was left open in CME contracts, making people think CME has amazing power, but it was more like a self furfilling prophecy. now that this is happening, there is very strong evidence cme is not (at least longer) a trendsetter in the value of bitcoin, they are our bitch now, we have decoupled. was this simple enough yet comprehensive enough?
