I was in a worse position than you, I applied to Caribbean med schools. Its not bad at all like the AAMC shills make it out to be, none of them have actual experience with caribbean med schools, and just parrot what others tell them. They do year round rollling admissions, I'd recommend looking into them.

There's more options then just med school. Look into podiatry, PA, RN (then get NP CRNA). A lot of those options are faster schooling, and get paid almost as well, without the lost years of income. Man up.

I'm a current US MD medical student.

Not gonna lie 508 sucks but the post-bacc GPA is gold. Your ship has sailed for US MD programs but you should get some love from DO schools assuming your extracurriculars dont suck dick. If they do, go out into your community and do something nice for someone. Dont do the average boring bullshit that most people do. Go do something difficult and interesting. Then write about it like it meant something to you. If it didnt mean anything to you, then you arent cut out for medicine.

Whatever you do don't go carribean. Go DO. DOs are real doctors. They're respected in the field, and they make real doctor money.

If you fail at getting in to DO, go to nursing school and then become an NP (6 figure salary). Use the money you make to invest. Keep investing.

You'll be fine. There are lots of options and if you're under 30 you have plenty of time to prove to your parents that you don't suck.

Yup thats true, as long as you're in the top 3 caribbean med schools, you'll get residency, but might not place in something you want. You can check out placements of the last years on their sites. Its something I worry about too, but I'll handle it later on down the line.

The thing is that if you're at the point where you've been rejected by MD and DO programs, and you're thinking of putting a bullet in your head, then caribbean is a better option.

I'd recommend trying to find actual people that went to caribbeans, and not just listening to peoples advice of wasting another half decade or more doing some useless schooling so that these med schools might consider you. Because what you also have to consider is your time, you're likely going to put off starting a family so you can pursue medicine.
