Did you start with maggots and expand into incorporating snails? what additional infrastructure did it require?
Been dabbling in my own free range maggot farm in my spare room, have about 15 plastic trays down in there with chopped decomposing fruit and various decomposing scraps I was able to get free from the butchers. Heating's on full blast 24/7, thats really my only significant overhead at this stage.
Started off with only a hand full of larva spread between a few of the trays and a dead pigeon I found that had some slightly off-white coloured maggots (different breed to my initial buy) plus I originally had propped the window open for bluebottle flies to come in and out as they please, once I spotted some significant egg laying I shut that motherfucker sealed and kept the heat in.
Anyway I'm about 3 months in to the venture now and the maggot yield is looking great, a lot better than originally had been expecting, looking into wholesaling them soon and keeping some back for further breeding. Had some interest from local fishing tackle shops, all I have to do is throw some spices on them and they're good to go as bait.
Also been looking into costs of shipping to China as I know they are somewhat a delicacy in those parts.
Any tips on additional vital equipment and also smell proofing the room would be much appreciated, several of my neighbours in my apartment complex have repeatedly threatened calling the police on me for 'the smell'.

You should think about capitalising on that space, friend. Im talking wall to wall floor coverage, imagine the yields.
Also, if you still have your heart set on keeping the place as a yoga space, you could consider adding an overhead platform, sort of like a 'second ceiling' to farm your maggots in. Just don't let all that free space above your head sit there idle when it could be making you serious bank, get a pack of maggots and get busy.
