How is America ever going to succeed economically if half the country hates the other half?

Imagine a company, where half the work force despises the other half, and takes every opportunity to sabotage and thwart their work. Would this be a productive and profitable business? Of course not. I really don't see how the USD won't fail, and China won't become #1.

I really am starting to wonder about this too. I consider myself pretty liberal and the creepy unpersoning of Trumpers feels like some east Germany type shit. I had no idea the boxed wine moms were this gullible and sadistic. I feel like we're 1 step away from leases being denied for political beliefs.

Not the actions of a country with good future economic prospects.

Have you ever had a real job? This is literally the environment at every job I've ever had, especially the higher up "white collar" work.

Believe it or not but most people here get along with each other regardless of political affiliation.

No, my employees all share the same politics and vision I do. I created this for a reason, so that there is no ineffeciency is fulfilling the mission of the business.

I genuinely believe that foreign countries are manipulating us through the media. So much hate for nothing. So what if the democrats want to raise your taxes by 2% or the republicans want to build a wall to keep out illegals. Who fucking cares none of that is a big deal. It's honestly why I refuse to link anything political to my online profiles, much less have a fucking bumper sticker on my car. At the very least half the country will hate you if you openly support one side.

I lived in China for a while, and even what we imagine would be "liberal types" such as gays, art students, and so on would be considered hyper nationalist, far right types by modern western standards, the same as men working menial labour. This is unity and effeciency. There is no resentment to large swaths of the population, everyone can work together as a cohesive unit. I believe this lends greatly to their recent success.

idk i work next to a liberal. We disagree but we're both respectful and we get our work done, and occasional debate things. It isn't so bad.

It's a feature and a bug in democracy. Yes, it leads to some disharmony. But ultimately it provides some level of political competition that's important for figuring out the truthful consensus. When it's just one group of people calling all the shots everything is dependent on whether they're corrupt or not. And they're frequently corrupt, which means you're just a servant.

It's not foreign nations, it's our own wealthy elite and megacorps. A divided population is harder to unionize or form nationalistic uprisings where your head ends up on a stick where guys like the Twitter CEO belong. That's the whole smear campaign on Trump's motivation, he was outside the status quo and was rallying the working class in ways they didn't think was still possible.

What makes you sure this social disharmony is planned? Could it not simply be incompetence and a lack of forsight?

True, but it is getting increasingly untenable at the macro scale.
