Gold has a proven track record of at least 6,000 years and every major developed country's government has significant amounts of gold reserves. It's the most reliably sound investment outside of maybe land.
Bitcoin has been around for 12 years, is mostly dependent on large amounts of technological infrastructure (not great when governments have internet kill switches unless you can leave and resume business in some other country, though to get there to begin with you'd need access to safu funds), and a couple banks are starting to try coopting it with proprietary versions. Not the most promising long term prospects right now. Interesting but not nearly enough of a solid track record to stake your life savings on.

You are missing the point dumbfuck. Horses have next to no value as a form of transportation as better solutions have come along and replaced them. That doesn't mean horses have no value.

Likewise gold is going to lose its value as money. It's already been happening for decades and crypto will be the final nail in the coffin. That doesn't mean gold will be worthless, just worthless as a form of money.

People don't want to use rocks as money when better technology exists. Just like 6000 years of using horses didn't endear people to continue using them as transportation after cars came along

>> No.26047963

Horses still have value for transportation and value for other uses, much like gold. You can't make horses stop being valuable. Cars are anti-value. They're depreciating assets for idiots.
And even given that a car could still be broken down for the value of its material components from day 1 making bitcoin even worse than cars. Bitcoin is more like stock shares or fiat currency. Its value is all speculation driven.
