AVAX is a literal shit-tier project led by some random who-tier turkroach and a bunch of poos and eastern europoor codemonkeys hired from fiverr. Polkadot is founded by Gavin Wood, the guy behind Ethereum who created solidity and essentially developed Ethereum since back in 2014 if you saw the ethereum promotion videos back in 2014 where they took place in london and singapore. All the initial developers and programmers that developed Ethereum have left the Ethereum project and followed Wood on developing Polkadot.

That being said, their Go implementation still has 4 open issues at the moment.

DESU compared to the AVAX JS API this is much better built/maintained. I know this doesnt reflect on performance of contract handling but it speaks volumes on the developers working on it.

I'm not claiming to be a dev genius, but clearly the Polka code is much better maintained. AVAX uses Go mainly and it looks like Polkadot leverages Rust, thought both have (smartly) enabled javascript APIs

One advantage AVAX have over DOT is that AVAX devs were not part of the Ethereum team.
You see Cardano, for example. Charles was a co-founder of Ethereum, and look at how bad it is, there is not even smart contracts and the staking platform is a simulator. Charles talks more about himself than about development.
I dont see this egocentrism with AVAX. It all seems more technical.
