Is trader still a real job ? Or did they all get replaced by bots and algorithms ?

I was just reading about trading and found it interesting, then I learned that now it's only bots that trade.

What a depressing time we live in, any cool thing a human can do, an AI can do it better.

What makes a good trader ? is it luck ?
If there are 1000 traders, some will be successful, some neutral and some unseccessful. But how do you know it's not a random distribution ?

Consistent success over a long period of time is the only relevant benchmark on a good trader. If you look at the all time graph of their trading portfolio and it shows a strong trend upwards over years and years. You would particularly be looking for above average gains during bull markets and below average losses in bear markets as another sign of exceptional trading capabilities.
