It has to go up in value otherwise no one will bother turning ads and tipping content creators when its all literal pennies. BAT becoming valuable would be attractive for new users and content creators. If it stays at the current price and current payout amount (~20) then users will either turn ads off or keep hoarding them since you get so little.

There is, but you have to complete KYC at a certain exchange if you want to cash out. More exchanges and new ways for spending BAT are coming this year, I heard. Right now the only thing BAT can be used for is tipping verified creators or using it as collateral in DeFi markets. You can link up to 3 devices to your verified account and cash out BAT you earned by viewing non-intrusive ads. You get different ads based on your browsing habits and you can modify what stuff interest you and what you don't want to see. It's not required to click on ads, they disappear on their own rather quickly and you still get paid.
