Out of many shitcoins, BAT at least has some current real value instead of it just being based on hype, since it is backed by Brave, which is increasingly getting popular IMO as people are starting to rally against big tech. Mozilla going full SJW helps Brave too. So there's some safety in investing in it

The central issue with BAT is that many people who actually understand crypto don't invest because they're seeing it as an analogue to BTC and expecting extreme volatility and 2000000x returns. When in reality it's not really crypto at all

BAT held out incredibly well over the crypto winter, it never went below 20 cents. Held out better than pretty much any alt in that time period. Problem is it hasn't seen much upward action yet either lol. But don't forget it went to 50 cents this past summer. For a crypto it is an incredibly safe investment because it has a legit, near-mainstream product and it behaves more like a stock. That's a double-edged sword though because the lack of volatility is true in regards to upward movement as well.
