Short term probably not much going for it. Only chance of it getting above $15 again is when/if life goes back to normal and (((they))) let us go to movies again. I could see it then going up a decent amount but for how long and how much hard to say.

We knew that if we gambled our losses wouldn’t be as bad as theirs if we got jewed because the price wasn’t too far off from it’s probable value. People investing in GME right now can still lose like 90%, I think if we get fucked it settles around $7 and then goes up to $15 when Hollywood releases all the shit they are sitting on. GME will never go back up to $400 again if it doesn’t get squoze.

>> No.27676889

Because even at $15-$20, despite it not mooning, AMC was the much smarter buy. You would have to be an absolute fucking idiot to buy in on GME past $100 (hell, anything over $50 is pretty damn dumb regardless of the stock or situation), and fucking most of them bought in at like $300. Galaxy brain plays. I may be stuck bagholding a few dozen AMC shares at $13, but I can live with that for a while because it is completely realistic and doable for this share to reach or surpass that again in a reasonable amount of time. Gamestop meanwhile will never be above $20 (at most) again in its entire life. That company will be long gone before any of the people who lost thousands on it come anywhere near getting their money back.

I'm one of those absolute fucking idiots that bought GME over 300. I bought the hype and was sure this was going to be a big break for me and I would have more money than I've ever seen in my life. I believed all the "data" about hedgies needing to cover 130%. I believed when they said every single share would need to be bought back. I trusted when they said the media was lying about hedgies covering their shorts because honestly that's something the media would do. I literally set my sell limit to $1000 and thought it would hit that any day now and I would need to pay constant attention to the market because the short squeeze would happen fast. I stayed up sunday night until 4 am full of anticipation. Opened up webull and GME and AMC were both going crazy, netting me hundreds of dollars within the first two minutes. I was ecstatic. This was going to be an amazing day. I closed the app at 4:30 am with a smile on my face and went to bed. Woke up later that day and checked webull with my eyes still full of crusties and thought I was seeing things. I was in the red...hundreds of dollars lost within a few hours. I waited it out. Kept holding. We all know what happened the next day. Thousands of dollars lost and still plummeting. Finally gave in and sold when it hit $99. I'm going to have to get a second job to make up the money I lost and it'll take me the rest of the year if not all of next year as well. Wish I could turn back time bros.

You were dumb and naive and misinformed, a lot us were. They deceived us with a lot of legitimate sounding information. They crafted a believable narrative around the whole situation, but once I started to actually think about it none of it made much sense. Some of the things they said such "short ladder attack" aren't real things/terminology. I would even argue that maybe Robinhood and some of the other apps restricting buys actually were trying to protect people from throwing their money down the drain. Basically, let’s say you bought 5 shares at $10. If you buy 10 more shares at $8, your average goes down to $8.6 a share, meaning you profit when it goes to $8.7. The more it dips, the more you buy, the lower your average.

If you are under the belief that AMC will continue to rise, then buying a fuckton of shares at the current dip will lower your average cost per share considerably. So when it rises again, you can profit earlier. Of course, you'd have to buy a fuckton more and there is no guarantee that itd rise

>> No.27681476

>>27681222
This applies to any stock you hold of it dips. Buying the dip will lower your average cost and lower the price you need to reach to break even. For instance if you bought another 150 now, your average cost would be like 11 something and you wouldn’t have to hope for another gigantic push to at least break even. Not only that, if you decide to hold onto it past your break even point the amount of money you get in return for each % goes up.

Not necessarily. Wonder Woman 1984 was on both and would have made a ton more money if it didn't suck. That was actually when I first bought because I saw there was potential. The Justice League Snyder Cut is also having a special theater release so there's going to be money from that too.

I've done a retarded amount of research since early Jan on GME before finally jumping in (and missing all the price points between $20-$60 during this time for buy-in) and you guys really don't seem to understand what happened. The momentum was the biggest factor in how things played out. You needed momentum for the squeeze, the proof is in the volume. Retail aside all the other hedgefunds and institutions were driving the price up because they also stand to make money. Restricting buys may have been something Melvin didn't expect but took full advantage of to cover some of their short positions and create NEW shorts once they saw that the price was driving down $100 per day since thursday. Even if the old short positions were fucked, they got opportunities to extend that long enough so that people get bored. I bet you that the short-sellers are net long positions now to profit from the retail traders driving the price.

Momentum prevented the buyers at the top from fighting among themselves in order to exit which then restricts the price. Momentum keeps driving the price as more and more media attention kept coming in. If RH hadn't played dirty we could realistically have seen over $1000 by now and short-sellers would've been absolutely fucked.

I feel like you guys didn't do the fundamental research behind the bullish nature of GME outside of the squeeze potential and feel like you got completely scammed. I assure you that this was a lucky break for the hedgies because all was going right in the world.

Because GME is deader than disco without the meme and the bagholders are gonna be left with nothing if they don't keep the meme alive. PC gaming is on the rise and the new consoles have cheaper versions that can't even hold discs. That company is Blockbuster circa 2005

Theaters still provide a unique experience that people love and are yearning to get back to. Studios are committed to keeping them alive because theatrical releases make them exponentially more money than first run streaming. Until the studios find a more lucrative way to monetize streaming, AMC isn't going anywhere

Also, AMC was always the riskier stock. I personally only bought in because of the attention it was getting KNOWING that it would be the choice of people like you who couldn't afford GME. Every article coming out had AMC second listed in the headline which was prime bait for normies to FOMO into. After doing the research, AMC was the riskier position. Look at its graph over a period of 5 years. The stock price has been in decline since 2016, sure they may make back some revenue when covid is over but that could be months if not a year from now. There was very little underlying news that was pushing AMC unlike GME. It was purely being driven by the hype of being related to the bigger meme stock. If you are going long on AMC it's because you are being forced to do it. There is no guarantee that will reach its highs or even $20 any time soon with all the bagholders who bought high looking to get out.
Maybe the second rally will push the price up but in my eyes it was safer to just take a small loss and profit from GME and get out. At least GME had the squeeze potential but AMC was just a vehicle for people to funnel their gamestop profit into.

I really really hope it'll rise just like everyone else, see it has caused me great losses yet I held until now but desu I never liked the stock; I'm trying not to invlove emotions although it's painful cuz memes r awesome - which makes us fantasize and speculate based on totally biased analyses, being led almost knowingly just to be part of the mob, like it was an invitation to an orgy - and to lower expectations to more logical scenarios. I have no idead what goes on behind the scenes and neither do anyone else might not even the 'snakes' themselves, so we're dealing with a monster we have no idea about its dimensions only that the enemy while not omnipotent has much more intelligence and obviously power and energies, while we are motivated by virtue of fucking memes courtesy of no other than reddit. Mate, dont worry. Everyone here plays Mr big shot, they are either larping faggots or they are actually in some money but they didnt start that way (and if they did start with money they are silver spooners given the money by there parents anyway so who cares)
If you are stressed, I still wouldn't sell, what are you going to do, take out at a loss and put it in your bank account to let it sit and do nothing?
Just set a sell limit to 16 so you will automatically get out, or keep and eye on it for the next few weeks and sell if it goes above that or sell if it gets near that if you really want to take the loss.
If you arent doing anything with that money immediately anyway what does it matter if its sitting in the stock? It probably will go up at some point especially when cinemas re-open
