I honestly tried.
When it was about 2$ I was going to invest about 100 into it.

The barrier to invest as a 17 year old at the time was just too high. It was a good thing in hindsight, I would have sold when it went to 20$ and would have most likely have offed myself by now.

I never believed a word about crypto when it started gaining traction. A good friend tried to convince me to buy ETH when it was dirt cheap and I wished him luck and instead spent my money on useless shit. Looking back, it's a big regret because I had enough money at the time to buy a shitload of it.
TL;DR - I was delusional and missed BTC and ETH because I "didn't believe in it".

I was in high school in a third world country, I friend of mine talked to me about "Mining Bitcoins", I didn't know what a bitcoin was, I barely understood english at that time to do my research. Kinda sad frens.

>> No.27815969

>>27814495
you couldn't really exchange it for usd back then like you could now. that locked half normies out of it like myself.

no one could fucking explain to anyone what mining bitcoin was, so i never really looked into it further.

wasn't until about 2015 that i realized i could buy illegal shit with it fairly easily that the tools were finally created to not only exchange usd for btc, but also mine fairly easily, but by then it was far too late. so i only ever just used it to buy illegal shit and only ever kept enough in there to do it, because back then it was still volatile enough that if you left like 200 unchecked it could dip to 160 in 2 hours and fuck your whole purchasing power up.

if i had just kept like 1k in there around when i finally set up a wallet I'd be rich. but who the fuck knows this shit man. i get that like half of you have some serious money to play around with so you can afford to take losses and shit but i was living pay check to pay check the whole time and never thought about the future. even if i had 10k to throw at something, it wouldn't be this. i'd sooner put down on a mortgage to a house or some shit than fuck with meme coins.

i mean you guys got me with the hype on doge last week and i've lost 60 bucks on that. then with amc and i lost 300. that's serious money for me but i thought some cool shit might happen, now i'm just holding bags.

it's fine though. i know enough now that i keep my eyes on you faggots to know when something is REALLY good before it 's too late and maybe next time i'll buy in early. but even then i'll likely only make a few k profit with how little i put in.

>> No.27816128

I thought since it was supposed to be digital currency that the price would even out at $1 so people could spend it like they do regular money. Never bothered to look too deeply into it.

I heard about it and thought it was a pretty cool concept - downloaded Bitcoin Core and upon seeing that I had to spend some huge amount of storage space to sync up with some weird network just to do I don't even know what, I closed it and forgot about it until late 2017.

That's life I guess. Probably would have sold it all in the late hundreds anyway because I hadn't even had a real job at that stage, so I trust that it was for the best.
