Here is my summary for those that do not understand this data.

On Jan 15th settlement, which means on Jan 13th close, there were 61m shares borrowed.

On Jan 29th settlement, which means on Jan 27th close, there were 21m shares borrowed.

Between Jan 13th and Jan 27th, shorts covered (or bought) 41m shares back. This seems to correspond with the price exploding, but hey, that's just me.

So on Jan 28th, there were 21m shares still borrowed. Then the price explodes, and comes down gradually to today's levels. Either those 21m shares were covered (causing the big peak), or they weren't, meaning those shorters survived and are probably breathing easy right now.

In another two weeks we will have data about how many shares are borrowed today. This will likely be a very high number, as HFs probably shorted the hell out of this after the bubble popped. So, you want to squeeze them, go ahead and try to get the stock price to $600+ based on fundamentals.

anon that is the closing price of the stock at the 01/29/2021, its not the closing price of their shorts...maybe you shouldn't be trading fren...

I am not, I just think if they actually closed their shorts during the pump, its a total success
& I am not sure if thats what happened

what this report says is that they managed to cover 40M of their previous 61M in between those 15 days and now have 21M left.

More reason why this should be illegal. Shorting will be outlawed soon enough, unfortunately that is the only way to prop up the US market at this point.
