I honestly don't understand why every government in the world has to have millions and billions of people.
You can make profits with a smaller population. A larger population is just a logistical nightmare that is also harder to maintain, feed and generally bad for the biospehere in grand scheme of things as we consume more resources than the earth can regenerate right now.

It's not, it's more about keeping the population growth steady rather than declining. There are economists with the idea in their head that you NEED population growth to also sustain your economic growth as a country (and the more rapid the growth is the more the economy will grow aswell), but that has been disproved many times. The only reason it's still a pretty mainstream idea is because of the super rich elite wanting lower standards of living for cheap labor. So I'm not saying Japan needs to turn the baby pumping machine into high gear, but they need to get to a stable level because the projected ~40% drop in just 70 years (~20% in 45 years) will obviously take a massive toll on them and my long term investments

I just read some guy's bear thesis on JMIA, the African consumer e-commerce company.
He says
>they are already established in the internet-connected areas of Africa so their growth depends on initiatives to expand internet in more parts of Africa
>their customers have 1 avg purchase per year compared to 13 for AMZN and 24 for AMZN prime customers
Sounds bullish to me. Two major growth vectors that are bound to improve exponentially without the company having to spend anything itself.
Also
>"CFDR (cancellations, failed deliveries, or returns) rate, a key metric for any e-commerce platform, was a staggering 23% of its gross merchandise value"
kek Also bullish. Imagine Amazon stepping into a market where 1/4 of deliveries get ?mysteriously? diverted.
With growth and insulation from competition, I think this go to $500 billion market cap in 10 years.

>peaked at IPO
Price action? You're in the wrong thread bud.
>shitty salmon farmed in piss water is just like world class semiconductors
This is not a good stock picking strategy. Fish farming is moving inside, fish farming is small margins, and engineered fast growth fish is an edge in that market.
It requires cash. Biotechs get cash with dilution. AQB has diluted me 3 times, only newfags think this is the first time; and I'm still up.
The insiders dilute everyone and buy the new shares, this is a way to wrest more control at the expense of putting your own money on the line. This is all in public filings. They don't need an unknown amount of money, they are on a schedule to raise a specific amount of money in line with a publicly filed expansion strategy being executed this year.
This is called looking deeper at the company's specific circumstances.

"World class" products isn't even part of the bull case of SOXL, crabiness + reliable slow growth + leverage is.

Thanks lads, they were Lithium companies specifically LITH.VN and LI.VN, LI.VN (American Lithium Corp) is going insane right now and has been since last week, It has already gained 0.22 cents per share since I sold which I feel bad about but I was able to sell near the top of LITH.VN so can't win them all. These are the rest of my positions, I know it is a mess and that is why I am trying to consolidate them all into just a few selling off some good ones or trying to buy into them again at a dip. I feel for the AMC and NOK meme as well when I first started. I should have stayed in on LI.VN as it's going to the moon right now on it's way to 4 dollars and I sold at 3.40, maybe I will try to buy back in in a dip or something but it seems unusual for the company so maybe it will dump.

I still have about 2500 CAD sitting in my questrade account to put in some other things just waiting for the right moment or new company but for the most part just trying to clean up my positions. I have a bunch of small positions from when I first started that I just need to get rid of.

Yeah, I fell for the meme pretty hard the second money got in my account I bought into the two big memes falling for the shilling that it was the next GME but lesson learned to not invest in meme stocks until I know what I am doing more. LI.VN is on an absolute moon mission right now, it hit 4.21 and is now back around 3.95. Would have been nice to sell at 4.21 but I made out with a nice profit, I think I just need to focus on numerous small wins and those will equate to one large big gamble win where I could be burned and probably leave trading like a beta.

Ride 20-80% of the wave and you're good bro.
Let's say after all is said and done we look back at a stock's performance during an upswing, and it went from $2 to $10.
If you bought at $5 and sold at $7 you're doing a great job. At some point you're taking on more risk than the play is worth.
This is true on any time scale, day trading, holding for 10 years, whatever.
You're battling a really strong sense of missed gains. OH SHIT I MISSED OUT comes from your gut & evolutionary instinct. OH SHIT I NEED TO PRESERVE MY CAPITAL has to come from your brain, trained on psychology (this is prospect theory) and rationality.

It's selling the potential upside. I'm looking at MJ right now, I can buy 100 shares for $3100 and then sell someone a call at a $40 strike expiring in March, this means they can buy my shares at $40 any time between now and then. Usually they'll only do that if it actually moves up enough that they can sell it for even more. They pay me $300 premium for the call which is unusually high, around 10% of the capital I put up. If MJ somehow goes to $50 I'm going to get bogged, because someone has a right to buy it off me at only $40. I still made a profit though. And if it stays under $50 I just keep the $300, and the shares. Pretty sweet.
Don't do it on memes and moonshots unless you're okay getting your shares called away. If you turn your whole port into covered calls you'll never capture a big win ever again, so use it selectively to add stability and lower risk in your port as a whole.
