Not really, altcoins have consistently higher gains. All the ones I wanted to buy back in 2019 but never did are anywhere from 10-50x (FTM, RSR, QNT, PNK, VIDT, etc.). I regret just playing it safe. Not sure why you think you would get priced out of alt-coins but not BTC/ETH/LINK, unless you are talking about gas fees?

Diversification should be used at all portfolio sizes. The only issue is that if your starting amount is too small, you should DCA more in, instead of gambling and hoping for some miracle 100x just to reach the starting point of many people. It just reinforces bad habits and there is no real consistent method that can get you those gains, otherwise, people would diversify those risks with 6, 7, 8 digit portfolios if they had the level of consistency that people act like they do. I don't think people understand that diversification removes all local risk through large sample, unless there is overall risk in the entire sector.

If you are saying I am not diversified enough into low-caps, maybe. That is something I considered but it's way more effort to find decent low-caps, and I think generally mid-caps offer the best returns (at least in both the stock market and looking at FTX mid-cap alt-coin index). That is just my TRX holdings. I put $20,000 into BNT and turned that into $40,000 and put another 6k into ALGO and ATOM.

I have over 100k in the stock market getting dividend payouts and have been gaming and flipping since Biden won and the market is reacting to policies leading to lots of 20%+ return with less volatility then Crypto.

I also bought several plots of lands on Decentraland and have a bunch of NFT artists paying me to feature their artwork in my little galleries I made (don't have an exact number, but have probably made over 15k doing that so far)
