At what age did you realize a million dollars wasn't even that much

>> No.30017147

At what age did you realize you're an absolute moron if you can't multiply a million dollars in a free country.

It may not be a lot, but it's plenty to work with.

This is kinda true for any dollar amount. When I was flat broke, $100 was an insane amount to lose but was almost nothing to gain. Then I moved up and $1000 became an insane amount to lose but not a lot to gain. Now I'm at the $10k tier, where losing $10k would be awful but if someone gave it to me there isn't a lot I could do with it. I assume this goes forever until you hit 50million but.... Then again I assume people at that tier feel the same way

I’m from a middle-class suburb in Melbourne Australia, the average house price here for a shitty 3 bedroom 60 year old house is about $1.2M which is about $1M USD.

This makes me feel like I need at least $5M to “make it”

It'd take me almost 30 years to make that much,

My cost of living is incredibly low in a rural area in the us. I pay 238 in rent a month, split, for a house.

With one million, I could retire.

This is why you will fail. You can't call yourself a proper investor of you can't even think of how to utilize something as small as $100.

Never, it depends on the context, 1 mil networth isn't much but 1 mil in crypto/ liquid assets is a lot assuming you own a residence and don't have debt, if I didn't have to work I could comfortably live off 250 a week or 12k a year, 1 mil could make me 80k in investments, I'd be set for life.

You have to be 18+ to post here. You're better off using $100 to buy a few beers to get a girl drunk enough to go home with you then attempting to flip that $100 on traditional derivatives.

About the age of 16 when I started looking at my first apartment to rent. Did rough math in my head for yearly expenses on rent alone and then thought about how short of a time it would all be gobbled up if you weren't constantly making your money make more money. Then that's kind of the point though, if you aren't constantly putting your money to work for you, you deserve to stay poor. Crypto is one way of doing this, albeit a volatile and high-risk route to take.

I'm from Melbourne as well and it's a nightmare. I just don't want to have to pay rent, having somewhere to live on my own that isn't awful that doesn't have much overhead is making it as far as I'm concerned. Once you don't have to worry about rent and you don't have debt, you can set your waging to your own pace.

Never. $1MM is a lot of money and you can do a lot with it. This is the whitepill
What happens is as people get more money they start spending more and more in their heads and imagining a higher SoL. That $1MM can easily provide you a $30k salary, while continuing to compound and rising with inflation, such that later on it can become $50k or $100k, for no work. But you want the lamborginis and overpriced mcmansions

Right, which is why we have options spreads. I'm sure I could put $90 on a Disney call spread with a $2.5 strike difference a month from expiry and double it.

Countries are always nice but I'm with the other Ausanon. Our government sells us out to China all the time. They cut first-home owner grant for Aussies from 25k to 15k and in the same month said were giving Chinese people 50k to move to Perth
Plus even if you do move country but remain an Aussie citizen, you'll still have to pay the ATO for trades.
