I was on a Teams call and had Brave up in the other window. During the call I moused-over the Brave window and instantly got an ad

Some people have said they have captcha-like algorithms to detect when a person is using the browser, and only shows ads when there is one
So keeping the browser open will help, but you should make sure to use it once in a while too, and not just on 4chan. Hit up the Googles and click a few news articles, that would probably help (certainly couldn't hurt)
