Honestly I’m too newfag to know, but BAT is tied to a product/service with a compelling use-case to solve a problem a lot of people have, and the value will only keep growing as more ad agencies buy into what Brave is offering.
ALGO has interesting technology behind it with credentialed people backing it, multiple countries adopting it as their digital currency of choice, and corporate partnerships down the pipe.
But BAT is under $1, so you’d get a bigger return on BAT if you went all-in, there’s more room to grow as the value of 1 BAT scales up, and it’ll retain its value because of the limited supply. If credentials mattered ALGO would’ve been growing the same way ADA has.
I still feel like both projects are good stores of value medium/long term, but are also both too new to have any meaningful use-case. But I’m betting on BAT just because I feel like I feel like I can understand it, and therefore believe in it long-term without watching it constantly until it proves itself. It’s allegedly the most used crypto. ALGO hasn’t proven itself yet, AND I don’t understand it completely. I just know it’s being worked on diligently and you can stake it for 6.10% on Exodus, making it a decent HODLcoin. BAT staking I believe isn’t a thing right now.

All that said I’m in BATshit gang. If I had to start my crypto portfolio over with $1000 I’d throw $500 into BTC, $300 into ETH and $200 into BAT and just forget about it. Sick of chasing dips and FOMOing in at the top of projects, I’d rather let the HODL do its thing while I spend my time on more worthwhile, less anxiety-provoking things like trying to buy and flip shitcoins. But ALGO is a compelling choice too, especially since there’s a limited mint supply and you can stake it now. It’s basically Cardano with a foreseeable future. I just think BAT has a more immediate use-case and it’ll get more and more normies into its ecosystem

basically my thoughts as well.
The only thing stopping me from converting all my algo to bat is 1) bat relies on eth, and if eth doesn't scale then bat will be at its mercy so 2) algo is the best hedge against eth long-term and 3) algo has some big announcements coming up.
