What the fuck is wrong with this place? I've been visiting this general for a week now and so far I have:
1. Had my life threatened by someone claiming to be an ex-Navy Seal
2. Been told in multiple paragraphs that I will never have ovaries or be a woman
3. Been called Rabbi more times than I can count
Every time I try to get a genuine response from any of you people when I address what I have been told, I'm either called an n-word or k*ke, and am then told to "dilate", "glow" or "fud harder".
Can we please have just a normal thread where we can talk about metals without racist slurs and the weird terminology?! What the hell is a sneed anyway?

I work for a bank whose name I won’t disclose. You fools. You have no idea what you’re doing. No idea how serious this is. This isn't a simple get rich quick scheme. If there’s a short squeeze on silver, all the banks will fail. Every single one. Eight of them are short silver and they would have to pay trillions to cover shorts if silver got to triple digits. The entire financial system will be destroyed if you do this. Silver is to the banks what GME is to Melvin Capital. Is this what you want to happen when we’re in the middle of a pandemic? If the banks fall apart you will wipe out every single person who is holding dollars. What the hell is wrong with you. America will be destroyed. If you do this, don't think that we won't take away your silver just as we disabled your manipulated short squeeze stocks you un-American traitors. You've been warned.

I presume by money market accounts you're talking about funds which are stored in the form of short-term bonds. Honestly I'm not really sure what would happen, obviously if the dollar and other fiat currencies dumped though then those funds would completely dump as well, but whether the funds themselves would be locked up during a banking crisis I have no idea. But it depends on your idea of what's safe anyway. Let's say your MMF is safe but the COMEX defaults and gold goes to $20,000 an ounce and the GDX goes 50x, what is that cash actually worth any more? That's why I'm just staying exactly where I am.

Keep some cash because you need to have something available for emergencies, paying bills etc. but personally I have kept my cash to a bare minimum (less than 5% of net-worth).

This, get some GOLDBACKS as they are backed by gold and are also a currency. Gold and silver bars / coins will be too valuable to trade in directly, goldbacks only have 1/1000 of an ounce in them + 50% value markup so they're much more tradeable. Their price may also increase as they get accepted in more states, they're constantly increasing in popularity.

Thanks also my friend. There doesn't seem to be any one way to be absolutely safe right now. I suppose that somebody who owned two passports, two houses in two countries, some gold some silver with different vaulting-companies in different countries, some physical which they held in their own hand, a lot of mining stocks in different jurisdictions, plus some cash would be sure to escape this crisis unscathed. But I am trying to maximize my gains and take full advantage of this once-in-a-lifetime situation. I have already gone all-in on silver, and after waiting and planning so long for this moment I simply cannot take the risk of trying to be clever and going into cash and then getting caught out. If I am completely convinced of the thesis which I have given here again and again about the potential price of silver and the corresponding potential price of junior mining stocks then there is simply no need for me to do anything but wait. It makes no sense for me to bet on the idea that the markets will flash-crash and that I can swoop in and buy the bottom if there's a chance that a Black Swan might happen and destroy that plan. Sitting in the right place is where I feel that I simply can't go wrong in the medium-term. Besides which for many reasons which I have given I don't even think that holding cash is safe right now. No one course of action can actually be said to be objectively and undeniably safe. I'm simply trying to place myself in the best position I can.

David Brady is also doing what you're doing and basically sitting in cash waiting for the Fed to announce YCC before he goes all in, so it's not as if it's an invalid strategy to have. What Brady always seems to miss however is the potential Black Swan which Alasdair Macleod is always talking about in the form of a banking crisis. If the banks nearly collapsed in March 2020 and now things are infinitely more dire and they are infinitely more leveraged then I simply don't see how they can possibly survive another flash-crash, and then who knows what happens if a person is sitting in cash. That's why Macleod wrote this tweet to Brady a few weeks ago (picture related).

True, a banking crisis would be bad for IOUs in the bank. But brokerages are financial institutions as well, they would also be at risk of collapsing. And if a banking crisis came to pass the whole economy at large would be at major risk as the defaults would ripple through different institutions and individuals. I do have my silver and some physical cash in the case that happens, and I have two brokerage accounts with a third one coming + I still hold some of my more stable miners. The black swan an unlikely thing to happen but I have tried my best to hedge against it.

I have the passport situation covered and everything else could be arranged as well. But I have a second cousin who is incredibly wealthy - we don't speak much but I consulted with him when I was looking into precious metals before eventually finding /pmg/. He has triple citizenship, spends 3 months out of the year in one of four different countries due to tax and visa requirements. Has a number of lawyers, accountants, investors and property managers working full time to maintain his wealth.

Even he is terrified and feels like there are no safe harbors or places left to go anymore.

I'll repeat my calculations here, although they were made for a $20 million market cap:

"A couple of people have pointed out that $10 to produce an ounce is a more a conservative figure than $7, and I agree with them. Using that more conservative figure, I thought that I’d make a detailed post giving some clear targets as to where BHS can go at different silver-prices.

First of all, some precedents. The average penny silver stock went up 150x in price between 1962 and 1968, when the price of silver merely doubled. In other words, a $1000 investment became $150,000. One stock (Coeur D’Alene Mines) even went up 1000x. Here are some sources for this figure:

“From 1962 to 1968, the average penny silver stock moved upwards over 150 times in price (one went up over 1000x times) due to a mere doubling of the price of silver and speculative fervor on the part of investors.”—Doug Casey, Crisis Investing (1980).

“Spokane continued to roll in silver. The average penny stock appreciated 160 times between 1960 and 1968.”—Dr John Fahey, “Optimistic Imagination: The Spokane Stock Exchange,” Pacific Northwest Quarterly, Vol. 95, No. 3 (Summer, 2004) (https://www.jstor.org/stable/40491757))

See also a rare and interesting book called “Small Fortunes in Penny Gold Stocks" by Norman Lamb, first published in 1973, which contains much rare and interesting data about the ‘60s silver bull market.

150x is obviously the utmost that anybody could hope for, and few penny stocks are likely to attain quite that number at $50 silver, but it points us in the right direction as to the remarkable gains of which these stocks are capable. (First Majestic, Endeavour Silver, and many other household names went 150x from ’01 to ’11—simply check the charts on Google.)

Dumpster dive for microwaves and electronics. Take the copper windings (enamel coated) from transformers and if you feel up to it, burn the insulation off the wires. It'll be filthy copper at first and you'll have to use flux (IDK if Borax is good for copper or not) to draw out impurities (like the carbon from all the shit that got burned off the copper) and scoop it off with an old bent spoon affixed to a metal rod with wire.

"We also learn, from Don Durrett, that that it is common for miners to trade at a 30x cash-flow valuation in miner bull markets. I have found that this can be the case even for one-mine producers. If I am not mistaken, Starcore International Mines, a one-mine producer in Mexico which is similar to Bayhorse, did actually trade at a 30x cash-flow valuation in the ’01 to ’11 miner bull market.

Bearing in mind everything that I have said, to what price might Bayhorse attain for somebody who buys it now, for a minuscule $20-million market cap?

It is generally agreed that Bayhorse can produce 1.3 million silver ounces per annum. At an AISC of $10, this means that Bayhorse could conceivably go 100x at $60 silver. In other words, a $1000 investment would become $100,000.

[1.3 million x 60 – 10 (50) = $65 million cash flow, x 30 = about a $2 billion market cap.)

Extrapolating from here is easy:

At $120 silver, Bayhorse can go 200x.
At $240 silver, Bayhorse can go 400x.
At $480 silver, Bayhorse can go 800x.
At $960 silver, Bayhorse can go 1,600x.

(This last figure means that a $1000 investment would turn into $1.6 million.)

(Most people would be happy with making the 100x at $60 silver. But believe me, $960 silver is not necessarily impossible. According to ShadowStats, $966 was actually the true inflation-adjusted ATH for silver, in 1980.)"

Bayhorse is a play for mid to long term gains. If you got into it for short term crypto shitcoin PnD-tier gains, then you're in the wrong spot. You should've held instead of trying to time the markets. Stop that nonsense. No one has a crystal ball, and trading on your gut feeling rarely works out.

>>30229955
Depends. In theory, I guess you could argue they could go 400 or 500x from silver production price of $10/oz to cash flow of selling it at $1000/oz. There's a bunch of ifs and buts in there, but at $1000/oz they would certainly be 100 to 200x. Whether or not they would sustain that sort of marketcap, it depends on the political and economic atmosphere on the USD and the Fed's monetary policy.

Your posts have been the single greatest source of confidence and information for me, someone who two months ago had no idea what a limit order even was or what a moving average meant - but who now spends all day listening to financial podcasts and commits hours daily trying to take advantage of this great wealth transfer.

If not for you I probably would have dismissed stocks altogether and never bothered, and been more than satisfied sitting on a nice pile of gold and silver completely oblivious to the enormous potential that miners and micro-caps in general could have. I might have been happier for it, since it's been very stressful and time consuming, and I would much rather be
spending my time in more enjoyable endeavors. But if this works out I'll be one step closer to retiring early, and coming out of the crisis better than most. So thank you.

You can get small crystals at multiple places .. especially china, but that's a different set of problems ...
In the US, luciteria also sometimes has some small 1-2g crystals, although they are not listed in the shop.

no.. but to fuck around with yes, because the 300A rectifier should be enough to give me ballpark 400kg per month assuming I run it 24/7. Kilo of copper is at 9ish$ atm, assuming I use 500$ in electricity, 500$ for getting raw ore, another 200$ in acid it leaves me a good profit, enough to pay my gardeners kid 500$ a month (really good salary for down here) and I can do 1kg bars and ship them stateside where I think 20$kg of copper bullion is reasonable (look at what they charge for copper bullion online, ridiculous crazy assuming the spot of copper)

Why would I buy the golden burgercoin for the same price? Is it because the eagle is more recognized and has a higher premium?

Whatever exotics don't seem overpriced, Os will probably be a part, Rhenium also seems interesting, but not many have chunks that seem collectable visually..

One is more pure but they both contain exactly 1 tr Oz of the metal. The burger coin is going to be harder because it's technically an alloy and less susceptible to damage.

Ah just didn't look super blue
yeah it's usually bc its compressed powder, but mine is pretty close

Volume = 3/8in * pi * (9/16in / 2)^2 = 0.093189 in^3
* (2.54 cm/in)^3 = 1.5271 cm^3

mass = ~33g
density = 33g/1.5263 cm^3 = 21.61g/cm^3

osmium density = 22.57 g/cm3

if it's partial lead it's still at least 95.5% Osmium by mass

If you can make pretty looking copper rounds and bullions there is a market for it but the hardest thing is actually making it look nice. Gonna take a lot of work to actually get a saleable product, getting the copper is the easy part. Instead of kilo bars you could look into 10 oz rounds, rounds carry a higher premium than bars and if you can make good artwork there's a lot of money in them. 5 oz copper rounds go for 10 or 11 dollars. There's no 10 oz coins so it would be a fresh and open market for you to get into.
