The principle assumption being that eventually business will make enough money to pay off the debt...which is an insane proposition.

as long as they have a calculator, options become a real cheat code with very understandable risk-reward

pic related is a very conservative strike/expiry I took since im very risk averse. It basically turns a 2x into a 4x with low risk given the breakeven at $21.30
these are LEAPS I picked up just a few weeks ago when I sold some tech shit to average up on Suncor and the stock price is already above the breakeven price with 2 years to expiry

if anything I was way too conservative with the expiry and I should have just went with the 2022 expiry instead for more leverage

Because cash is liquid (with USD you can go anywhere you want...). Even with the meme-iest estimate of inflation, holding it for a month costs you, what, 1%? That pays for itself by letting you sidestep a few hours of NASDUMP.

And stepping into bonds is another play. Do you wait the 1%/month for bonds to settle down? Sure, since you miss out on a couple basis points of interest but get to avoid a bunch of people panic selling loans to Biden and Kamala.

And even then, inflation isn't a serious problem until you see something like 10% (hyperinflation is 50%).
If anything, we might see some real wage growth again.

Just remember that inflation (as in, the increase in the CPI, and prices paid by normal comsumers buying normal things) has been eeriely low for a long time, despite rates being near-zero for years and years and years.

Stocks aren't actually very good in times of inflation. Yes, you will increase your position in nominal terms, but not in real terms. Also, you will have to pay capital gains. So Even if you manage to match inflation through stocks the tax man will ravish your butthole and you will end up worse off. Commodities and real estate do very well in times of inflation. My source for this is some charts that michael burry posted on twitter lol.

Yes, which was made worse last year. This is why the Fed can't raise rates appreciably once we've recovered, and why rates have trended downward prior to this past year when you compare the peak rates in each business cycle. The number of zombie corporations have been growing for years, globally, not just in the US.

>>30327628
Inflation caused by sustained labor market participation and real wage growth, as the Fed defines it, has also been on a downward trend for years. Of course, that side steps the inflation we see due to supply-demand imbalances from last year. We also know that real wage growth has been stagnant up until 2017 or so. >>30327690 seems like the plan, which is why you should denominate equities in a real asset.

Hehe Im in oil and miners too. We even have the same amount of money. I've been in oil for a year now though and have made 10X my money with certain ones like SM. Today was a massive opportunity to shift some of those oil gains into the miners which got hit really bad. Because of my dip timing I ended the day +20% on miners today alone. If they put in Yield curve Im going to be a very rich man.

But BITF NEEDS to get uplisted badly. so much potential wasted on being otc.

Anon.....some of us are degenerates who don't feel psychological strain. Or perhaps better, we have been through the worst already so there is not a problem anymore going forward. I firmly believe when learning trading, people NEED to experience a massive loss first, perhaps repeatedly. Lose your ass off, get margin called, see -20%, or higher, get fucking rekt. It is needed to understand lessons and how to trade better. but even more, it de-sensitizes you if you are strong. You have been through the worst. A -20% day? You have been through worse, who cares, weather the storm! Boomer investing is for those who are weak at heart, the sheep. Lions who are brave deserve to take all the profits from you sheep.

However, if you are over 6 figures, then you are retarded not "securing" a good size into bluechips. 10% portfolio for "risky assets" is too small for people. That is only for millionaires. The rules for how to invest change as you have a higher bankroll. While percentage wise and theory-wise rules are the same between high and low accounts and is argued by advisors as such, it is false equivalence. Money has real world usage value and stocks have set costs. The reality is that disciplined approaches only work well if you already have a ton of money, otherwise it is pointless. Small portfolios MUST gamble, otherwise they will not make it. Because let's face it, if you are willing to work for 20 years then you are a sheep and a loser who cannot seize opportunity by the balls when you can, this isn't a boomer economy where that flies anymore. This is do or die. Be a lion, or be a debt-ridden own-nothing forever-working sheep.

When I was working from home last year I'd just bring my laptop and post up with a cigar in the patio for 7 hours, it was great.
