It's very competitive to get good jobs and the top companies are dystopic in their culture and performance reviews. But the pay is good if you can handle the cognitive load and focus. And you are able to successfully bicker with autists over irrelevant details without wanting to kill yourself.

Teaching assistant isnt bad if you don't mind the shit pay. Basically just teach and play with kids without having to deal with parents or actually be a teacher

Software engineering is fine if you're working at a good team/company. It's incredible how fast it can go sour though, good teams are rare so if you see the warning signs it's better to just jump ship instead of try to fix it.

I don't have an issue with Jira, at the end of the day it's just a tool. The issue is with how project managers use the tool, and in most cases they create more problems than they solve. The best year of my professional life was when we did away with sprints/backlog grooming/etc and just picked up stuff we wanted to work on.
