2014 fag because apparently we're dating ourselves ITT:

I feel nothing a 70% drop over such an extended period of time is gutless compared to the usual volatility to be expected halfway between halvenings.

Out of gut feeling alone I expect this to be the "beginning" of the bottom. I'm a lazy trader and Bitcoin has hit enough oversold signals for me to start buying the falling knife. I fully expect it to drop another 20% before we truly hit bottom, but I have no intention of trying to perfectly call it myself. Trying to call the bottom exactly seems sisyphean to me.

Every major bear market, knife catching has worked out in the long run, if you're contextualizing the cycle within BTC's halvening rate.

Bottom of what?
All financial assets are on a downward trend due to tightening monetary conditions. You should pay attention when central banks announce what they are going to do. Some air will be let out of all the bubbles until either inflation is under control or something big breaks. And that something big would be in the credit markets and their normal functioning. So far credit spreads have increased but nothing really has blown out. And when you are thinking that something big breaking would be sovereign debt crisis in Pakistan or Turkey then no, that is their problem but not enough for central banks to shift.

Everything is in quite rapid change and a lot of things are going on. The thing to keep an eye on is Japan because when they stop exporting their savings to US and China to buy debt that will have the biggest impact yet.

And if we get a global recession all industrial commodities will get hit as well.

This is one of those times when the savvy can make a lot of money because of volatility but the risks are incredibly high. If you don't know what you are doing then for you cash is king especially USD. Just sit in cash, cry about inflation and know that you would lose more in any other asset class.

when a parabolic advance is broken an assets needs to retrace 80-95%+ before beginning the next cycle. This puts BTC’s bottom at $6500-12,000

*If the US goes into a recession or another world event happens those buying at $12-14k will be punished and we’ll push to the lower end of the 90-95% range. Keep in mind there’s a chance people won’t be able to afford food if things get bad enough.

Still, conditions are different than they were in 17/18. Adoption has grown by orders of magnitude and there is tons of development going on. Compare that to the 2018 crypto winter when nothing happened, I remember the chainlink twitter literally posting 1 tweet in an entire year. That was torture, while the price was crabdumping for 12 months straight.
inb4 MUH THIS TIME IS DIFFERENT but we might just get rekt when betting on historical patterns. On the other hand: historical patterns are there for a reason.
