>>50122443I don't have car payments. My car has been paid off for several years
I paid my car off long ago. My mortgage is $473/month though. I couldn't imagine paying $700/month for a car.
I bought my car for $15.5k in cash up front. It's worth smth like $18k now if I were to sell it.
>>50122443I drive an old 1998 Silverado. If gas prices go up, I just drive a little less. I’m not paying some jew to loan me money

WFH no carno debtBitcoin on cold wallets
I'm about to buy my first car but with fuel prices going up I'm thinking of waiting 2-3 months. In Ireland there is no supply and everything is overpriced to fuck, kind of hoping start selling because they won't be able to afford it anymore.

Asked me to buy if off of him. I had the better sense of rejecting him. Fortunately covid happened, and his car appreciated barely over the loan amount, he sold it to carmax. Lost his downpayment, now drives the family car, I secretly hate his ass, I wish he would move out.
>>50122826yeah i kind of wish i had gotten the hatchback instead of the sedan.

Paid $3300 for a 2010 Focus with about 100k in summer 2020. Second car is 1st gen Scion xb I paid $4600 with 110k.The Focus has nickel and dimed a bit and had the AC replaced which is expensive, but both have been reliable overall.I've become able to do most of my repairs on my cars from years of shitboxes, but in hindsight I'd say most are better off picking a reliable newer basic car and making payments and spending their time making money instead of finding and fixing shitboxes. But I already have the skills and autistic obsession with them for myself.

>>50122443$0 now but was about $200. My last job required me to travel and I made around 60 cents per mile in reimbursement. During 2020 when gas was cheap I paid off my loan with the excess reimbursement. Now I work remotely. Pretty based.
>>50132601ah yes, still looking at it full term that's kinda nuts. and 3.8 is on the low end now huh. I will pay to fix mine up before I get a new one.
We both drive 2017s, both paid off. My wife's VW has depreciated like shit. My Toyota Tacoma has essentially lost 5k$ in value, and has 110k miles

Only new vehicle that remotely interests me anyways is the Ford Maverick.
Nothing, but I pay so much for excessive consumption and old car repairs that I could probably finance something new and sensible and end up spending about the same each month. Totally worth it though, the noise and handling are something you can't get from anything that costs less than a hundred grand these days, and that honestly makes up for a lot.
>>50124946I just talked to my auto loan guy and he said the same used car from two years ago is selling for more today, with more miles and more wear and tear on it. He told me about a car that sold for $11k in 2020 just sold for $15k, and that this is not unusual in the current market.
$0.I have a 94 mazda miata that I love. Paid $4k cash. Also have an 03 ford focus hatch for day to day stuff. Paid $3000 cash. It's pretty easy.

>>50132344You're proving his point anon
I bought my car up front, so the monthly payment is zero.Since I live in the beautiful state of Connecticut, I owe $400 in annual car taxes. This is up ~15% from last year since they've reappraised my car higher. There's also insurance. I get the absolute minimum mandatory by law, which costs about $200 per 6 month period. In total I'm paying approximately $65/month for a car that I currently only drive 4-5 times a month.

>>50122443$0. Never finance any vehicle as doing so results in you overpaying about 15-20% more than you should. Financing vehicles is a scam. Which is why car dealers think ppl who pay in cash all at once are low lifes. DO it to piss them off is my advice. They lose a certain commission rate if u dont finance either so its less money for the salesman. t. me and my current favorite vehicle. i ride chrome wraps in GTA online so i figured why not wrap my Jeep. Ended up buying the Jeep for someone but they didn't "work out" so its mine now.

$380/mo for a 2018 truck. put $15,000 down at purchase. While tempting, i wont get another vehicle after paying this off. 1, to save money but 2, im predicting that within my lifetime, vehicles will become a service and you will no longer be able to buy them. Lease only. and owning my own shit outright will keep more money in my pocket>hurr the govt will make your truck illegal thenthat would require the court to compel me to buy a product which it legally cannot do.
