Im a musician and trying to be a graphic artist too. Im not good enough yet at either to make money off them though.

however, ofc I also hate having financial worries, and cant progress quickly in my own enterprises if im working 5 or 6 days a week just to survive.

post -any- ideas of entry level independent jobs i could get into doing, and how to get started, or what youd done or seen other people do to get their finances in order

>t. went broke during covid and have been unemployed for a year, moving into a place and getting back on my feet sometime this month, need a plan so i dont go broke again though

Im planning on getting a job to start off but hopefully eventually making money off my own private enterprises so i have more free time

I had a pretty good job for a few years but then lost it during covid and decided afterwards to try making money off something private, work from home, private contractor, etc.

I havent found anything good that actually stuck though and im dreading going back to work without a plan after experiencing the magic of NEET. no way i could ever go back to a workplace longterm now tb h.

Beatin my meat in the back of a van
I'm rolling on molly she's rolling on xans.
She want my meat but shout out to her man
Bitch, I'm Yung Cracka I do what I can.
Sorry lil' hoe, but you gotta be quick
Swallow that pill like the nut from my dick
"Did you know everyday that a hundred thousand men die?"
I don't give a fuck, bitch, I'm watching hella hentai

are you in the 18-24 year age range? because you sound kind of that age.

The vast majority of art school graduates are in your situation and in their mid-twenties. Very, very few become successful at freelance right away. The way it usually works is they put together a great portfolio, then struggle with just picking up a few freelance gigs here and there. Then after a few years get a job at an ad agency. Then in another 3 to 5 years go freelance, or star their own agency.

The best tip I can give you is to associate yourself with some scene related to youth culture. Illegal street racing is hot right now. So maybe you could design decals or wraps for some of the cars. And I dunno what else NFTs? Artwork for microtransactions in games. What you get paid right away is not important. The idea is to esablish yourself within a certain scene.

If you can become known as creating artwork within some youth culture scene and then eventually connect with art directors of ad agencies, then it is on.

For what you are talking about you should really look into David Choe. He did several podcasts with Joe Rogan and I think he has his own podcast. He basically explained how this type of thing worked for him back in the day.

I see. Well look into David Choe. He played in a band and is also a very prolific visual artists. He made like $300 million. He was given Facebook stock for doing murals and that is how he made it.

Graphic artist can mean all kinds of things. can you post some of your art to this message thread?

Used Cars are going up and so do repairs.

If you get videos of yourself picking parts from junk yards and using them to fix peoples cars, with timelapses of you doing the work, people love that shit. Fairly Entry Level if you stick to simple small cars and decent profit since well used Cars keep going up.

I have been in a similar situation as you: personal projects I want to pursue without being a wagie, but a need for money to keep a roof over my head while doing so.

The only way to make decent money is to do things that people really need, and are willing to pay for. The more they need it or the harder that thing is to do (alt: the rarer the skill needed to do it), the more money you make. This is why a freelance Wordpress developer or a self-employed diesel engine mechanic makes more money than a DoorDash driver.

You are going to have a hard time because you are looking for
>entry level
independent jobs, which is not the way to go. You will be competing with the lowest common denominators for simple, low-skill, low-necessity jobs and will be paid accordingly. You should instead seek out things that you already have some skills or expertise in (or areas where you can learn those skills quickly).

You mentioned music and graphic arts--audio engineering or podcast/video editing are freelance options here, though the problem with nonphysical work is you are competing against people in third-world countries. To avoid that problem look for gigs where strong knowledge of English is necessary. Even better, look for a niche where you have additional subject-matter expertise that gives you an edge over Ranjeesh who charges $4/hr.
