The UK didn't invest in their people like Thatcher envisioned, they never put that money into tech education and factory specification. Ironically at least part of this is because the UK Tories were too retarded to realize Japan keeps immigration low and primarily Japanese while the Eternal Anglo is happy to sell out to the Jew if it means the plebs are kept in their place. The failure to continue the empire with CANZUK is also another example of the UK being a zombie country running on fumes with no actual vision of its future.

I would say on a larger level this is a macrocosm of the tendency of grandsons to be worse off than their grandfathers- dad only ever knew wealth, so he just assumed that was the natural state and was unprepared when the economy went sour and had no response to any challenges that came his way, so he never taught his son anything and his son is destitute. That's modern Britain. People assumed the Victorian Age would last forever and now british people today are orange colored mutt creatures living in prefabricated goyboxes on finance from predatory lenders working fake jobs as sales clerks hawking garbage.

>CANZUK
this meme garbage was dead and buried decades before the acronym was even formed.
not one hypothetical member country has sustainable demographics. EVERY society is doomed to fail within decades of transitioning from monocultural to multicultural.
Unironically CANZUK would have had s better chance of happening if Hitler fucking won

It's a wage suppressant but you're utterly retarded if you think that it explains why the country has remained backwards. Even in the 1920s the North-South divide was being recognised as growth focused around London and the home counties, same is true with Scotland's central belt.

The reason this country has gone to hell isa chronic lack of investment and outright harmful policies by both Labour and the Tories. You see all the time where huge potential emerges from our (equally underfunded) academia and from lads tinkering in a shed but it never sees the right level of backing and there's never the right infrastructure or industrial policy to support it. It's telling in farming where UK productivity is abysmal even by comparison to Europe because there's no investment in mechanisation. Another example actually comes from Thatcher's closure of the rail lines where replacement bus services were supposed to be made but then got axed for cost despite the report the decision was based on LITTERALLY MAKING BUSES A FUNDAMENTAL PART OF WHY YOU AXE THE RAIL LINES.

The thing is that despite 100 years of reporting and hot-air our next PM will be committed to slash and burn so that even when good policy emerges it still lacks any public backing and instead you get 'le private sector investment' maymay

>>50695813
>No regional divides

Looks like bullshit data to me. You probably have all the IT jobs in Dublin and nothing elsewhere.

>>50696695
The thing counting for it is that wages have been stagnant and in 2025 real wages will still be lower than 2008. You might be able to argue that inflation means the numbers looks worse but even with Brexit inflation has still been pretty marginal up until last year.

Paddy here, in 8 to 10 years we're going to get rid of our low corporate tax and jack it up to the EU standard, why? Fuck micks I guess, so at least the UK (assuming Scotland doesn't leave sooner) can say they're better then us.
