Try running an ISP or a Google or an Amazon on a bunch of cell phones. I understand the sentiment of wanting to be truly decentralized, but it's not practical and it will never be able to compete with large organizations that specialize in such things. Read the white paper, read the original Satoshi emails. Bitcoin was always meant to be run by a few (10-30) specialized nodes. It's the layers built on top that could be run on lower grade hardware, not the nodes (those producing blocks). It's time to grow up guys. It's time to stop living in your little decentralized dream world.
