Architect here, the job doesnt differ from working in a warehouse sanding some mechanical pieces 12h a day. You feel like shit doing the same thing over and over again without any hope for career growth because for most firms you will become competition once you start your own business and they will drive you out of business into poverty. Manual jobs are the most underrated, some carpenter has more money, freedom and happiness in his job than any average architect.

Wagecucking is a worse career decision than any other time in history. Hierarchies are so established that unless you start working in a talent funnel (FAANG, Management Consulting, Big Law, Private Equity, Investment Management, etc...) you will never make it.

Unless you have the chance to be fed into one of those talent funnels coming out of school, you should just start your own business. The experience you get working for a few years at companies that aren't at the top of their industries and don't provide training programs (which is pretty much all of them outside of those highly selective talent funnels) will be meaningless.

It will be a complete waste of time slacking off for $30/hr max with other wagies staring at the clock until 5 PM rolls around with your employer just expecting you to Google everything. This applies to 99% of jobs because it's rare nowadays for companies to provide valuable training to their employees through 2+ year-long mentorship programs like these talent funnels do.

So just start a fucking business if you aren't working at JP Morgan of Microsoft to start because you will spend 5-10+ years trying to get into those companies just to waste the most productive years of your life and be paid a decent wage. At that point, it will be too late for most people because they will have a family and kids, and won't be able to put out more effort than required because they will be burnt out those first few years on the job trying to climb the corporate ladder. At that point, the chances of starting a successful business and becoming wealthy are almost zero.

The biggest problem by far is excessive population. Any avenues to wealth will instantly be targeted by others in an attempt to get rich, causing the wages to go down. Just look at software development, it had a good 10 years of being the best way to upper middle class and now that there are so many software devs inflation has skyrocketed and houses are unbuyable in any area that has a tech presence. The bar is raised in the areas that you can obtain a job, effectively keeping you down.

Basically this, I graduated Mech Eng and most of the jobs right out of college were heavily reliant on CAD. CAD is incredibly easy and why most entry level jobs are 60k - easy to negotiate down in salary due to lack of social skills. I skipped that shit and went to managing in construction companies where any engineering degree makes you more qualified than most of the workforce for management roles on scheduling and budgeting side. Now I work comfortably at home making $130k as a consultant and possibly becoming an associate director. Not ideal, but I have plenty of time to enjoy life now.

21 year olds should be able to buy homes and start families, you retarded faggot.
That should be the norm and you'd see massively less drop off of employees when they actually have something at home that makes their investment in work have purpose.

You do know they're not enforcing the mandate requiring an experimental gene therapy shot if you're a capable(read:white) candidate, right? That's only for the quota filling diversity hires because there are so many of them to choose from, and they don't do shit anyway.

indeed, engineers make well over 100k to start in my city. i suspect any wage stagnation is not caused by a lack of demand but socialized losses for truly incompetent engineers.

Damn, the only good post in this thread and even on /biz/.

I know people hate on Luke Smith but he has a good point here:

The only way you will ever make it nowadays is getting lucky off some investment/crypto gamble or starting your own business.

joining pre-IPO companies and wageslaving still yields a chance at making it through stock options. but like anything else, jews have ruined it such that it's now much harder.

The only way you're making it through stock options is if you received the stock 10 years ago
companies will pay you 30k less and offer you stock that is worth 10k right now and will be worth 5k in a year. Like all good things, it's ruined by the time (you) find out about it.

any degree in itself is useless. you can work in it without a degree however once you start your career you will probably want to get one anyway if you're a corporate drone. well, either that or certs. if there is something you want to build then it doesn't matter one way or another. you can view mit ocw lectures for free on youtube anyway - just follow their course syllabus and you're golden. i'm pretty sure you could pretend to be some african poorfag and write to their profs and they would answer any questions you might have, too.

I wanna study civil engineering because structural design and construction is based + I learn all the basic engineering math/physics. I don't wanna be a wagie anyway so why not just study something useful that interests you and try to start a business with your skills? Much better than working soulless 50-60hr/week on finance/tech fuck wagielife
