Step #1. Eliminate ALL current taxes and tax laws (Federal, State and Local), abolish the IRS (and a bunch of other shit).

Step #2. Implement a Federal, State, County and City Sales Tax (make ALL other forms of taxation illegal (no income, capital gains, payroll, corporate, death/estate, tariffs, property taxes, etc.)).

Step #3. Cut all Federal spending (including all welfare) with the exception of Military and basic operations (like congress, judiciary and the costs associated with international negotiations). States and Local jurisdictions can deal with welfare, healthcare, infrastructure, etc.

Step #4. Leave everyone the fuck alone unless they are committing violent crimes, robbing or damaging property.

This is honestly the only way I can see things being "fair". People should only be taxed if they are consuming goods. Why the fuck would you want to tax people for working, providing capital or producing goods and services? It's actually retarded and ass backwards.

What's even more ridiculous is, I've proposed eliminating payroll taxes to Socialists because it's robbing the laborer of his time and energy. Literally every single one of them has said no.

I don't think so, but it's always been the model I think made the most sense. Plus, it gives more power back to the people (cliché term, I know), since if the government raised the taxes too high, people would just stop spending money and start saving it, starving the government of its revenue. Government would be forced to find a sweet spot where people would still be willing to spend on luxury goods.

Of course, I'd abolish the Federal Reserve and allow a decentralized banking system to come back in. So, the government would be forced to borrow from the private sector in a competitive bond market, instead of just having "free" money from the FED (I'm not going to get into whether the FED is actually private or not).

Banks could back their currency with whatever they want frankly, I wouldn't care. Gold, Bitcoin, a basket of commodities, whatever.

Of course, this is all a fantasy dream. But, it's fun to think through it.

In the US even if you're earning over 400k, which is the upper limit for the highest income tax bracket, if you're married jointly filing, you're not going to get anywhere near 60% unless you live in CA and have NO deductions at all for a mortgage or whatever.

I can't speak for the other guy, but I calculated my government taxes last year (Federal, State and Local combined). I live in rural Ohio where the taxes aren't too bad. I made about $80k before taxes. The government took 35% of my income. This isn't even including sales tax (which is about 6% - 7% where I live) or property tax (which is about 1.25% where I live). So, I guess technically you could say my actual tax rate is 43%. I have no idea how much higher that number would be in LA California or similar. This is all before I pay any bills or buy groceries. It's actually pretty fucked up.
